It is fantastic to know something like this is happening in Iran. Question though, many of them are recent imports?
Hi Pav, Nope, none of the cars are recent imports. Since the revolution in 1979, the importation of used cars (of any kind, even classics) is banned. All the cars that you see have been imported to Iran as new and have been maintained and kept all these years despite all the odds. Best Wishes Ramin
Dear Pav, I was going through my photo archives, and based on you surprise, I thought I would post some pictures of a car show the Classic Car Committee of the Auto Federation had a few years back at the Saad Abad Palace Complex. It was probabaly one of the best shows ever (in my humble opinion). I thought I would cover all the steps, from setting up to the end. The first picture is one of our bill boards in front of the palace. The second is of the stands etc. being set up. Enjoy, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, The firts picture is of a Countach being unloaded from the truck. The car was on loan from our auto museum. The second picture of the car being put in its display stand. The Guy standing next to the car is Amir Sadri of Opt Consultants who organized the event in conjunction with the Classic Car Commitee. He really did a fantastic job. Hi, Here are the cars of the entrants aprked and being readied for the show. As Mercedes was the key sponsor, the 'S' class on the truck was being transported to the Mercedes stand in the show. The theme of the show was 65 years of Mercedes in Iran. Enjoy, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, This 300 SL is one of cars found in the palace after the revolution. Volunteers from the Classic Car Commitee brought it out of storage, cleaned it up and put it on display for the show. The car is now on permanent display on the palace grounds. Regards, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
