FSV Thunderhill Track Day

Thunderhill is a great track. Up, down, decent straight, interesting turns (several off camber) and good run off almost everywhere. Plenty of sights showing in car videos and others with turn by turn descriptions. Google is your friend. Go!

THill - great track - lots of run-off - fast turns - only bad turn the "cyclone" not sure what they were thinking there, but otherwise a great place to run any car

 

Which one is the cyclone? The tribute to Laguna Seca's corkscrew?

Yes, it is a blind over the hill left, onto an off camber right. Sometimes they configure the track with a bypass that eliminates the Cyclone. Either way there is a lot to like about this track.

Fast track - great place to get speed, (unlike Sonoma), but take some dramamine. Anything FSV does they do first rate. That you can count on.

 

The cyclone is great fun on a motorcycle, once you've got good turn in markers.

Too bad 355 Spiders aren't trackable, or I'd come out and play.

 

Ooooh, good to know. Is this event invite only? Or can any Ferrari client register for this?

 

+1 on FSV. I assume that this is in lieu of Ferrari Racing Days at LS. Planning on making a little thunder very very soon! Checked all the fluids and looked everything over, pumped up the tires and put the helmet in the trunk.

Awesomely fantastic day! Two run groups with about 10 cars in each. I ran out of gas at 3pm and called it a day. Logged 142 miles. Simply the best track day ever. Anyone reading this who wants to attend a Track Classic in the future, send me a PM. The only better track events are the free ones.

Below is a Maranello smiling with bugs in her teeth and the FOG Track events coordinator who probably logged 175 miles.

That is a sweet track, the cyclone was my best turn. Although, with the help of a good coach, I did a 360 down it while staying on in a 550. Wish somebody had taped it.

Definitely go.

 

What was/is the Track Classic? Did you recently attend one?
