I have seen one up close, it is a nice piece...how much will it cost you??

Those are real diamonds, in the horse on top, and I met the jeweler that was responsible for it's construction.

There was a thread in the Texas Section, on it's Houston appearance at I.W. Marks, with photos. I have the brochures of the jeweler I can tell you his name tomorrow

Tnx for the replies, I appreciate. Now, I believe there was only one version of the baton with the Damiani jewels, the one that travelled trough the whole world to arrive finally at the 2007 60th Anniversary celebrations at Maranello. Those that were for sale, through Dealers and through Ferrari Store, had a chrome cavallino on top, as far as I remember...
Is that correct? Does anybody know the original price in 2007?

Yeah, just found the thread from August 2007:

    Ah, maybe so!

The one I saw was the diamond mounted one.

It looks like in that other thread they (non diamond FerrariStore version) were $2,000USD, I don't know if that was accurate, or not....

See if you can find the party thread in the Texas Section we took a lot of pictures, Ferrari parking out fron, Miss Texas was there..

The opposite for me. I think it is a piece of art. A symbol, just like the Olympic fire, that went around the world to celebrate 60 years of Ferrari greatness. Then if you know how well it is made, the materials, the numbered limited production.
And you are right about the 2 little mistakes in the book:
-the images supposed to be a 250P of 1963, and a P312 of 1972 are wrong.
But this kind of things happened also in the Enzo epoque:
Have a look at the last sentence in this famous Daytona brochure, please...

"22 Years of unqualified racing successes." I guess they probably meant "unequalled". Funny, anyway!
By the way, for the 60th Anniversary, Ferrari also launched a (limited production) set of 2 marvellous silk boxes, one contained the 60 enamel symbols (the same as on the Baton), the other 60 gorgeous lithographs. And this set wasn't cheap either.

Limited edition Ferrari?s 60th anniversary icons sells for ?3500

Beautiful pics and info on the Seidldesign website.
Seidldesign, Enzo Naso, Marco Morosini and some other famous designers were asked, in cooperation with Editalia, to design the 60 symbols and the Relay Baton.
Look at the gorgeous grain on the lithograph!
    This is art!

I had never heard of Seidldesign, but Morosini and Naso sound more familiar. I'll post some of their great work on the Art thread.
If we may believe the acompanying text on that Seidldesign site, it looks like this 60 Relay Baton is a high rated, extremely exclusive item, raising fast in value...

That I suspect will be making an appearance on your eBay account soon... Much like the '62 yearbook in your other thread.
