They charged me $99 for 4. And yes, now that I remember, I did remove the pins. The person who also used them and recommended them to me is Lee Atkinson "new ulm 400i".

...the 12mm thick spacer is almost perfect; the original wheel bolts from the 400i are used, with only a 3mm offset difference from the TRXs. The flat spacers are simple, perfectly reliable, and affordable. I finally did change to a hub-centric, just because the lip makes mounting the wheels easier. These cost about $200 to have (4) made. Picture is attached; bolt pattern is 108mm (all Ferrari) and 14mm bolt diameter.

Incredibly easy to bolt on the 308 wheels, get all 8" and use 245/50 or 245/55 on all corners (do not go to 245/45, they are too small inside the wheel well...)--Lee

What is the nearest non-metric tire size to the TRXs? I realize you can't put US tires on TRX wheels, but what is the closest you can get? Also, how much wider is the TRX wheel than the 8" 308 wheel?

The closest tire to the original TRX would be a 245/55...its been a long time since I calculated, but as I remember the more available 245/50 gives something like 2-3% speedo error...Lee

Rutlands' set of 308 wheel widths are 7 inch/front and 8 inch rear. Do you need four 8-inch wide wheels for an 81 400? What are exact specs for spacers, and are the spacers the same for front and rear? And has anyone found a definitive source for them?

Refer to posts #16 through #19, most of the info. is there + Lee's drawing.
The 180TR rims on the 400i /Series 2 & 412 are 180mm or 7.08661 inches. But Lee & others have reported back that 8" fits fine.

You could go with 7" wheels up front, but then you are probably also looking at smaller tires (225 wide). Nothing exactly wrong with that, but the price I got from Superformance was better (820 pounds including shipping to Texas) for all 8's...Lee

The outer dimensions seems to be the one dimension missing. Does anyone have?

I have a source in SE MI who can do these, and if we can get a group of us, that might drop the price for all of us. Here is what he told me:

<<Kirk the only dimension I don't have is the OD but I have guessed it is a bit under 6" diameter which ultimately the number I need for quoting the material cost.

For materials for one set I would pay the cutting charge and have the supplier cut the bar into pucks. Since they are 3/4" thick you need to have a longer bar that is held by the saw. Cutting adds a couple of bucks to the material cost. Then it is all set ups.

Confirm the OD for me but I will check on materials tomorrow. No problem coming at or a bit under $200 .

If you could get a few more guys interested, that spreads the parts across the multiple setups and will cut down the time per part quite a bit.>>

Let me know what the OD should be and how many might be interested.

    Thanks,
    Kirk

I dunno--no one has posted this link as a source before. I was just going by what Lee and Marv had posted previously.

    Thoughts, anyone?

Is that the spacers from Pro Wheel adapters are 0.7 mm thicker (prob not an issue) and they have a bolt pattern of 5x100mm, and the spec from Lee for the 400 is 5 x 108mm.

Maybe others more educated on this matter can chime in. $60/set is def a better price!

No, those won't work--at least, the bolt pattern must be 5x108mm to fit. Except maybe these will fit, given those huge slots...:) .
I'd feel a whole lot better with a custom spacer that fits snugly on the hub...These cast-type of universal spacers would keep me worried (and its better to spend another $20 here for our $20,000 car...)---Lee

The material looks like they are not of the highest quality, either. I heard back from the [email protected] folks and I think I will go with them. They can have them done in 2 days at $45 each.

    For starters...
    108mm = 4.25197 inches, correct?

Check them out again, it states they fit:
    Standard: 5 x 4.25", 5 x 4.5", 5 x 4.75", 5 x 5"
    -or-
    Metric: 5 x 100mm, 5 x 112mm, 5 x 114.3mm, 5 x 115mm, 5 x 120mm, 5 x 130mm

1/2" Thick - 5 Lug Wheel Spacer Plate

In essence any bolt circle size between 100mm & 130mm...because they're slotted, correct?

Also, .7mm is just under 1/32"...hardly noticeable. The gap between my TRX tire & the inside fender well is the thickness of my index finger (~5/8").

Yes, they're missing the hub centric ring & the hanging posts, but they should still work.

I am going to order the 8x16-inch QV wheels from Superperformance. Will I be able to use my existing 14-mm bolts or do I need to order a new set?

I ordered a set of 16x8 wheels from Superformance four or five weeks ago. They had no stock and later had to tell me there is a delay at the foundry. They have been communicating well but I am disappointed to not have my wheels by now. I am hoping to hear again in a week that they have at least left the foundry.

Superformance has not shipped mine yet and I ordered in early Feb. I sent him another email this morning since he is a week behind his last reply.
