Chris, these corvettes are truly crazy cars - they should have been illegal for road use since the 2003 zo6 ....Ferrari as well since the scud and the 599 .... It's just to crazy how these cars have expanded so much power and technology the last 10-15 yes.

On another note, can anyone recommend a good and reliable rustproofer in the GTA? I have heard some stories about Rust-check and my brother just got his car rustproofed at Krown but I wasn't satisfied with the results. Any help is much appreciated!

Saw this rare, gorgeous beauty on University Ave yesterday: A Lotus Evora F1 Edition! The gold accents and red touches were amazing on the black paint.

In the 80s I purchased the Pantera GT5 belonging to Barclays Speed Shop if thats the Pantera you are referring to. Neil owned a black 308 which was maintained by Fiorano. At the time I lived in Sudbury there was a hairdresser who owned a red Daytona and of course Pino C with his blu GT4 and later GTS in white. Plus your McD guy with a 308.

I dont agree with this. They are not that pretty in person. Just my optinion.

As far as the modern cars go i'd say an Exige. Then of course you have he Esprit which is awesome :)

The Evora is just another small go-kart prototype machine such as the Exige, and Elise. I agree that they are not THAT pretty, however it looks alot better than the Exige, which to me resembles a kit car on steroids.

I'd take that twin turbo Esprit any day Saturn.

I just heard way too many stories about Evora mechanical issues. But then again, it's not like Lotus was never guilty of this before :D

The Esprit is a legend...however it just got fatter and bloated as the years went on. Kind of reminds me of the NSX, an amazing automobile when developed, but became a tired mess after 15 years of "improvements".

Lotus could have (should have?) been in the same category as Mclaren, if they maintained the technology and engineering that made them famous 25 years ago. Instead, they lost their way in the 80's, nearly bankrupt and confused in their ideas.

I admire how they have resurged in the last decade with the Evora, Exige and Elise, but my opinion is that they are stuck in a void of bad management, and just continue to produce small obscure "kit" cars (Toyota engines??) without any real substance.

Daytona later traded in on a Dino - much more of a hairdresser's car. Of course the alltime greatest Ferrari in northern Ontario and possibly Ontario is the 1962 250 SWB residing in North Bay.

I stand corrected about Peart's car but Winston told me he bought it from Peart when I stopped by his shop to order a nitrous kit for my '70 Chevelle SS. He was quite the character and so was his wife who ran the place with an iron fist and didn't take any crap from anyone....including Win.

Seem to recall there were a couple flamboyant hair biz folks back in the early 80's including the lady who cut my hair (Maria) who was rumoured to have bought a Ferrari for her boyfriend who liked having a Sugar Mama. I do remember Carpino's GT4 with the a houndstooth interior (?) but not the white one you mentioned, just a white Lotus Esprit.

BTW, Bob Gougeon was the McD guy (three or four locations) and his 308 was the first one I ever saw in Sudbury. It was love at first sight for me.

    Cheers-Colin Firth
