As beautiful as a car as the 918 is, it also reflects on terrific the Carrera GT was and is today. God I want one of these cars bad.

I loved the simple curvy beauty of the Carrera GT when it came out and to me the car has not aged a bit. I have very similar feelings about the 918 Spyder. Now the important question is will they truly produce a limited number of them or will they produce more than the demand a la CGT and lower the Spyder's desirability somewhat.

The 918 is the predecessor for the next generation of 911 which will all be mid-engined. While the 800 HP and 70 something mpg are both accurate the 800hp is generated by combining the engine and two electric engines one up front and one in the back.

I would imagine that while we will not see a great deal of these in the US, its technology is going to be found in Porsche cars for years to come.

All I know is that I can not wait to see one on the track. There are rumors that there will be a LM edition available for LeMans, but seems to be only rumors at this point.

It looks like a Ferrari 360 mated with an Audi R8, but I'm sure from a technical standpoint the car will be brilliant.

    I'm a big fan.
    Technically it's extremely impressive.
    Aesthetically...I love it.

I think I will be keeping my CGT for a while longer. Too derivative

Like it or not, that car is ridiculously impressive.

I'd also rather own the CGT. A $30K clutch in the CGT will seem like bargain compared to any mechanical issues suffered in a 918.
