that's sad to hear Sy, that you've had so many problems with engine builders when i think on it, i hear that story from almost every car guy i know, including having had that myself a few times....cylinder head shop going under without notice my pars disappear, and engine builder who tried to pass a bad block of as mine, etc it would (as hind sight tends to reveal) great to have someone like DH do the work for you from the start.....with the business F-chat connections, have the shipping sponsored somehow, etc. don't be disheartened, like with everything, there are highs and lows in the hobby....best of luck to you, what ever you decide
Hi Sy, Sorry to read about yet more problems with the LM engine... My advice, sit down take a deep breath and have a good drink and then take the engine to Terry Hoyle!! No one better!! Best regards, Phil.
Lsst guy who woirked on my engine and who I thought was a friend lost a 348 camshaft, my Le Mans anti-roll bar, challenge foglight cover and other bits. Currently avoiding all phone calls and attempts at contact. Hi Phil, know Terry, but I'm more than happy with Stuart at SB Race Engineering and he'll be looking after my 348 from now on. If I had used him in the first place, I probably wouldn't be so pissed off now.
I don't know how one "loses" the items you mention. If I were you, I'd press the issue. But, I can understand your frustration. To this day, I don't know where some of our parts are! CW
Sy, Really just idle curiosity but what exactly do you have (ie what bits are missing) and what would you be looking at in order to part with the lot. As I say, idle curiosity, not in the market at the mo, but you've said on a few occasions when we've spoken and PM'd that you've pretty much lost interest in this project. Maybe it is time to swap it for that camera? Pete
Sorry for all the bad news Sy, we all know how much work and time you have invested in this project as well as $$$$$$$$$$ Maybe take a breather over the Holidays and you might get enlightened with which direction to take. All the best Bro
Well... some of my stuff ended up in a garbage bin. It was only by chnace that I had a look and noticed some of my stuff was in it. No real bits missing. I have 99% of what's needed, although I'm not selling the Motec and other bits. If I decide to keep the 348, I may still use them. Camera is coming in next month anyway. No, lost total interest in it and Ferrari's in general. More of a Lambo fan these days. If you send me a medical report on your heart, we could come to some arrangement. Have to speak to a few contacts in Russia and Ukraine first. Only if it has a college degree. Ernie..... are you offering your sense of humour?
PS. Here's what I'm getting A Canon C300 to be used for the 348/355/F40/250 documentaries. Cost: $19,000 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool camera Sy. More of a stills guy but am a fan of Canon. Only got a cheap DSLR but would always go for a canon. Re cars, don't want this to come out wrong but think a Lambo would suit you. I like them (although they're not really right for me personally) so take it as a complement. Whatever you choose to do, it'll be the right thing so good luck.
