Have found a source from Germany for a seal kit from ZF for the 400A ZF power steering pump. Should have it in about two weeks. Rear domed plate is off the pump now, and I was curious to see if anyone has been inside one of these before. Located an exploded diagram which helps. Mainly O rings and one lip type seal. It appears that once the cover is removed, and circlip at nose bearing is removed, the shaft will tap out through the nose with the ball bearing. But! not 100% sure on sequence here................any input would be apprecisted. Aware that cleanliness is paramount here. If there is interest, I can post pics............... Godspeed!
Are you sure you're referring to the pump (located on the camshaft of cyl's. 1-6)? Does this rear domed section happen to have a bleed nipple on top? B.
Appreciat reply but this is the belt driven pump utilized by the 400a, 400i, 412 for power steering Godspeed!
