Finally did it. The restoration of Dino #03724 has started.
It has been raining way too much to be working on #01104, and now all the work is strictly outdoors.
Took old rusty trailer up to the farm with Dino on the saddle, to commence a full strip-down.
It will be convenient as we will learn how to this in reverse as there is sequence and it will be a great learning experience, I think.

With 01104, there are times where clueless is the word, so it was time to copy from another source. Fully documented disassembly will be forthcoming and see what mysteries lie under all the crud and the twisted (rusty) odds and ends.

Dino started off in So.Cal. and sailed down the Pacific almost two years ago, as another made to size project car for these kind of countries.

Looks like this will again be a journey back from the dead and yet another Dino that has been extraordinarily fortunate to end up in your hands. In bocca al lupo Alberto!

    Best Regards,
    Paul

The country I live in, one has to be creative in order for the 'powers that be' feel any empathy towards a lunatic that is importing a "Ferrari Dino" and not a "Dino".
    .....48% import tax...
That F word, makes all sorts of flags appear in the horizon. Thanks, Magnum PI...

Besides incredibly, credible documentation, a little 'hood decoration and 'official' lettering that certified it as a car no-one ever wanted again, provided the necessary Hollywood to make the officials shed a few tears and think "boy is he ever stupid to bring that".
The motor went via separate freight to give an even lower appearance in status.
I mean if it doesn't have a motor, then it must be worthless, right?

I am certain Andres and Alvaro know exactly what I am referring to :)

When all was said and done, a little quickie with red paint, made it slightly less offensive to look at for the past 2 years.

Surprisingly, it is in considerable better condition than the "terminally ill" #01104.

It is bare now, with all in boxes, photos of step by step. It appears that besides a bunch of nose jobs, no other damage is evident besides the usual rust in the usual places.
    Enjoy...

    Regards, Alberto

This Dino is not that bad, and after the other, I think this going to very straightforward.
A bit of a twisted nose, and panel replacement, rust under the rear glass, sills nose, more or less all over. My kind of car. Great metalman :)
Snip. chop, weld, clean and get it going. I am not apprehensive, happily, as you will see...

In all the photos, why is the body so high above the tires?

No engine, no glass, no spare no radiator, empty. Shocks frozen.
Tom said it'd be good to make a 4WD for here.:)

No Sal, it is just painted. I did post some photos.

Here, it is raining too much during the day, and as reassembly is strictly in the great outdoors, we decided to wait awhile and alternatively do a complete disassembly on Dino # 2.

The photos that Andrew refers to, as me "going soft", yes it will be a bit less challenging than the yellow one, but still will be an armful as most forlorn Dinos are.
Mercifully though, nowhere as bad as the yellow one as I do not think this Dino was stored in a Canadian salt mine.

Wait for the nose and the sills to come off, and we will see....

Went today to see E Dino, and as presumed, as expected.
The insides of the doors and internal frames were covered in factory tar, of course before disassembly, only what you could see.
The doors and frames have only been cleaned, no sandblasting.
Now you can see the degree of factory preparation before assembly. Wow...
