Hi all, wonderful thread. Does anyone have any info on this body. Last I heard it had move from Austria to Germany after being sold on ebay in around 2004/2005. I do have an old email address for the, then new owner who sent me pics of the start of his rebuild project (inc the pics below). I've not had any response from the address in several years. Is he an Fchat member? I look forward to hearing from anyone with news Cheers Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This an original mock/mould for BBLM Owner is making a show'car' like the 308 GT/M in Modena. I had contact with the owner (germany) Tom
Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply. Its nice to hear what he has planned for her. The last time the owner and I spoke via email, he was looking for chassis tubing. Do you know if he was successful finding enough Ferrari oval tube, or how he has got on with the build? Kind regards Paul
I sat in this car @ Cavallino Classic 2004.........12 years later Engine was orginally #001, but have seen a photo that is was broken, don't know what engine no. is currently in this car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I race in the IMSA/FIA group every year at the Monterey Historics. We had three LMs entered in 2007 . I know Bill Cotter had an LM too but he had his 935 entered. I heard at Rennsport Bill was selling it so I am not sure if he still owns his. Though it is very long time ago I also know I saw one at Roberto Crepaldi's dealership Crepaldi Automobili in Ospitaletto di' Cormano in 1984 . It had never been tracked . It is pictured below in his showroom . The top picture is my 935 with the Goodman LM behind me 2007 Laguna Seca 1980 chassis 35527 Charles Wegner #72 1979 chassis 29507 Kurt Schultz #100 (00 on the car) 1980 chassis 34445 John Goodman #65 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 512 BB LM you saw at Crepaldi's (post #207) is 38739 owned since many years by Massimo Sordi. Marcel Massini
About 6 years ago someone was advertising oval tube in Hemmings. About the same time another ad offered complete BBLM replica chassis. It may have been Carpenter for both. I tossed all my Hemmings a few years back. Rats. I'm also up for some oval chassis tube.
Hi David, I may be able to track down some oval tubing for you. Another independent contacted me a year or so ago to see if I could buy 10 metres of it, so they could get a better bulk discount. I'll call them tomorrow and PM you their contact details, if I have any joy. Regards Paul
Wouldn't be the first time I have been mistaken but I will confirm and ask for chassis # The 512 BB LM you saw at Crepaldi's (post #207) is 38739 owned since many years by Massimo Sordi. Marcel Massini Marcel , I wish I could find all my photos of Crepaldi's place outside of Milano . They had some incredible Ferrari's including some prototypes/one offs . I have fond memories of those cars then going downstairs to sit at the long table while the chief mechanic made a meal for everyone and we sat at the checkered table and ate and talked cars... Roberto always seemed more interested in motorcyles so I am not surprised this LM is now in someone elses hands.
One is not a BBLM, but a BB with a great history. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

DK offers this series II car for sale, the owner restored it with the side skirts to look as a series III car.
serial number 35527 is for sale thru Cavallo Motorsports in Carlsbad,(see newest FML no.8,Vol.35, and on Cavallo's website ), pictured is also the engine number,no.023. (if i remember well,in this thread we listed also the different engine numbers..) regards Ivo
i saw the car several weeks ago...very nice car. i spoke to wegner and got the idea that while the car was for sale, it would not hurt his feelings if he were to keep it.
Wegner's been through several BBLMs, and this is a good one to keep. Good history. Fast. But, he does have plenty of toys in the chest... CW
I posted this in another forum, but I think it is better suited here: My father Glen Kalil first purchased 512 BB LM 24131 from Luigi Chinetti back in 1980. They were good friends, and the persian rug on the floor of Chinettis office was a gift from my father. My father actually street drove the car for a short period on the streets of Miami and Key Biscayne back in the 80s. My dad would also rent out the old Hollywood Sportatorium and race the Boxer on the weekends with my mother, and other freinds and family. I remember sitting on the battery next to my father, racing around the track, and flying down Crandon Park when he used to take it out for a blast. One of the pictures here is of my mother suited up for a few hot laps at the Hollywood Sportatorium. The other picture was actually taken by Luigi Chinetti himself. This shot was taken in the fuel pits before qualifying. The car was clean here, without most of the sponsor decals. When this picture was taken, the car had the short nose on it, which proved to be slightly less competetive than the long nose, which was worn by one of the Thompson cars. The long nose was taped to the car for race to make it more competetive. I have better pictures of it up close, and you can see the red duct tape securing it on. Chinetti gave my mother this original picture, and it has never been published before. The rear wing was actually a front wing off of the 312T2 Formula 1 car. My father traded the car a few years later to Walt Medlin for a strip mall in Orlando. I last saw it in a magazine that did an article on Walts barn. The car was dusty, and it looked like it had not moved since he got it. Does anybody know of its whereabouts now? Just footnoting this, but 29511 (ex-Gelles, ex-Wang, ex-Keno) was entered in the Aug '11 Gooding & Co auction in Pebble. Estimated price of $800K - $1.2MM. Condition was reportedly "rough". I have a report that it was a No Sale, but I don't know how high the bidding went. If anyone has any further information, please post it up. CW
