The Donald will no longer be the pace car driver this year. He has been let go.

I'm hoping they make it a former 500 winner. That's the way it should always be. Period.

 

Thought they outlawed untrained celebs handling pace car duties decades ago......

Was at the track today. Balloon glow and fireworks were rained out, but did eat an awesome tenderloin at Dawson's on Main St in Speedway.

Its the month of May! Let the fun begin!!!!

If you need a serious steak fix, St Elmo's is world famous. You must try their shrimp cocktail...legendary and will clear your sinuses.

A Hoosier tradition is the Breaded Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. Dawson's on Main St in Speedway, walking distance from the IMS ticket office outside Turn 1 serves up one of the best in town. Grindstone Charley's, just down Crawfordsville Rd, also serves up a tasty BPT sandwich.

If you like Tamales, diners, Drive-ins and Dives just filmed an segment at the Tamale Place.
Last night, they just aired a DDD episode that featured Zest in Broadripple.
In another, Guy showed up the eats at 3 Sisters Cafe in Broadripple. We have their recipe for Blueberry Goat cheese Pie.
Burgers at Bub's Burgers in Carmel also made Food TV. Bub = Big Ugly Burgers.

Shapiro's is THE place to go when you traditional deli fare. Cornedbeef piled to the moon!

Today was Rookie Orientation. We went out to the Speedway to watch cars drive fast. Really excited for opening day this weekend.

News just said 90% chance of rain on Saturday. Let's hope it changes between now and Sat!!!



Forgot to mention, Blue Angles did a fly over today at the Speedway.

 

I just read that Scott Speed will be driving this year. Good luck to him.

 

"Charlie Brown's" for breakfast, on Main. Best place to rub elbows with some old time real drivers.

 

What can you get on WiFi/ I Phone at the track this year. Live timing and scoring? PA system? I was going to add XM radio to my phone and that would give me the PA system. Trying to get there for Fast Friday. Definate on race day.

 

Then Dawson's for lunch and a breaded tenderloin with fries & onion rings?

 

I didn't get to see him run at ROP yesterday. Last I heard rumored was they were still working on his car. Not sure if they got it done in time or if he drove Tung's car. Either way, he did pass ROP. That's the important part to have gotten out of the way.

I think it was JR Hildebrand that didn't complete all, but he is expected to do so this weekend and be good to go.

Yes, Thanks. I'm thinking race day I can have live timing on this site and Indy Car channel on XM in my headphones. 2 I Phones. I'll just geek clearout.

 

I took my two teenage daughters and my best friend to Indy last year. It was a hoot. 3 days of racing, parades, and serious fun in Indianapolis. I imagine this will be the best year ever. Even though we won't be at the track this year, our minds and hearts will be at Indy.

 

Opening Day at the Track today! Rain held off until 3PM. Really nice day to be there.

The Celebration of Automobiles was amazing. So many cars spread all over the place. I never did get to see all of them. I need to go through my pics and see how they turned out.

Back to the track tomorrow. That will make 4 times in the last week. I love the Month of May in Indy.
