Great choice. I am truely envious.

One day I am going to set aside a corner in the shop and build one of those things.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the price for the package you put together?

Excellent spec on your car! It's great to have another Caterham guy on FChat. I recently sold my R500, but I have another ordered. Here's a pic of my old car, which was also in some magazines. 263hp in a featherweight chassis; these cars make everything else feel like a barge.

Any self-respecting sports-car guy should have one of these at some point in his/her life. Beautiful pocket-rocket.

    You chose a good spec.

Yes, I took delivery and built the car, including the motor. I put some miles on it, sent it out to CA for press work and and then sold it to Justin, who has been tearing up the tracks with it. I've been in your garage. We know each other! You took me for a ride in a Dinan M3 press car looking for an 5mm dowel pin, if memory serves.

Hey wait a minute! You don't count! LOL

Sorry, I should have put it together. I had been told that it was sold and then that person changed their mind, and I knew it went straight from you to Justin, so I was surprised to see someone saying they owned it. ;)

I just figured you couldn't imagine that a guy as Caterham crazy as I am could possibly hang around with these effete Ferrari guys. Sadly, I'm bitten by more than one bug, and I do hang around here. I currently have a glass dry sump 308 GTB, a carb Boxer, a 456gt, and a 360 Spider. Plus another Caterham, and way too many old Alfas, and a Mexico. Actually, there are quite a few Caterham guys on Fchat. Perhaps we should start a thread under British cars where we can say things like "Can you guys help me to decide whether I should do the 3-yr belt service on my Ferrari that I never drive or put a new 300hp 2liter Duratec in my Caterham that I always drive?".

Very intense, in anything but bone dry.. A bit of a handful in the wet..
It's not road legal so it's only ever been tracked.. Looks ok from these angles but it has had a couple of excursions.. The expression "running out of talent" comes to mind, but it gets all sorted out and then back on track again..

I bet its nuts in the wet. I would assume it would be good fun though. I just cant wait to really push this car on the track.

Cool! I just watched an old Top Gear rerun over the weekend where they had to build one before the Stig could drive one from the factory to Scotland. Looks like a fun car. Especially on the track.
