I've said already but I think the photos are horrific. However, I do see what they're trying to do and I think I will like it. Let me say this... I never liked the 612 -- ever. Not the sketch, not the Ferrari photos, not in person. But, I understand why they made it. This is definately a step forward from the 612 (others I'm sure will disagree). I think the front hood sheet metal looks really interesting but you can't see it in the photos. Sure, the side view looks awful. But, so do all 2 + 2 or four seaters. The rear window is really interesting. I can see why some hate it. I think it's rather bold and refreshing. And the rear tail lights integration is very clever -- better than the 458. Should it be bolder? Maybe. But, its intended to be an alternative to a Bentley. That, to me, is pretty hideous. My point since day one of seeing this: Wait until you see it before passing judgement. As usual, the Ferrari release pics are terrible. But, the Czech photos show some promise. I'm keeping an open mind. That's all I'm saying.
When I first saw the picture of the FF the memory of the old Jesen Interceptors came to mind. Here is a 1967 Jensen Interceptor picture: (photo grabed from http://johnsonmotors1.com/sale.html where it is for sale.) -sc Image Unavailable, Please Login
After spending a few hours researching the FF I realized some of you might not understand what the FF is. The FF is the replacement for the the 612. And what was the 612? The 612 was a large comfortable 4 seater that you could drive for hours. It wasnt meant to be the fastest around the track. The FF is a more comfortable, faster, more advanced updated version of the 612. Love it or hate it. Its the newest Ferrari model!
i'm sure its a technical marvel, a real speed demon and has real world practicality. my drawback is the concept of a shooting brake, wagonesque type of Ferrari. not what i am looking for in a 2+2 or this marque.
A icon! Better yet, as I noted yesterday, the Jensen FF! Same name and same configuration, i.e. 4-seat AWD.
YES! The Jensen FF. There are some for sale at: http://www.thejensenff.com/forsale.htm and here are two pictures I snagged from there to confirm you are 100% correct. -sc Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed. The 2+2's need to be silver or blue. 456 and 612 never looked as good, or photographed well, in red, for example. These stills show the car off well also: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
from photo doesnt look ugly or beautiful, perhaps should see it in real to really judge it but i like the idea, 4wd and big spaces so the whole family can have a nice trip together in a ferrari
I WILL keep my 6-speed 612 H-GTS for a long time. My favorite car. I WILL buy a FF after it depreciates (quickly) and approaches the cost of Panamera.
It is polarizing, isn't it? No matter how many of these I'd have around, I couldn never get my wife onboard with the looks... Personally, I like the looks of the FF, but then, I liked the ///M Coupe (and MGBGTs) too! Image Unavailable, Please Login
The same "Rick" that ruined my wife (by letting her sit in your car at Tony's CarBQ)? Rick's California snagged almost all the trophies during the impromtu judging, but I managed to get one (1) myself How're you doing; looking forward to better weather, like we are? I somehow missed this announcement yesterday but... I like it. I like it more than the 458. While it may not be 'pretty', its funky and cool and ballsy. Ferrari needs more of that in its model line.
So much for looking better in person. The FF turned up at the Cavallino Classic, it was hidden inside the hotel which turned out to be a good thing Not my cup of tee from the side view, front looks okay, back looks interesting, at least that is the best thing I can say, the side view just looks wrong. I can't get over the side view, but hey to each his own, they must have built it for someone, and I guess I just don't know who that person is
The original sketches of the 612 looked awesome. The actual product was much less dramatic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
