I swear this wasn't me, I am from Wellington! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Ferrari/330/auction-339156118.htm Cheers, Neil
Damn what is it? Not allowed to see the site. Is it a 330 or a replica from a 330?. Assume replica . There was a NZ company posting on here not long ago that was making 2 GTO replicas. Made me not so proud to be a NZ'er ... Pete

Since there are no photos of the shell alone (ie not on it's chassis & wheels) maybe they're trying to sell the shell before they've stripped it off. Could there be time for someone to try and rescue it still? Of course this requires money & mouth co-ordination which is not always possible.

People who don't know **** about old Ferraris want to have "an exact copy" of a 250 GTO or a Cal Spider. There is money in converting these cars, as 80'000 euros is plenty enough to do the job and the customers are willing to pay double or even triple to that. They neither know or care that their car looks and drives like ****. The choppers then cry all the way to the bank. It is like child abuse or domestic violence, it does not go away how much we ever wringe our hands about it. Best wishes, Kare
well put. the cars/owners need to be pointed at and laughed at,bit like one pointing and laughing at a cat.
The ad reads: shell in perfect condition. Perhaps an opportunity for someone with a project 330 2+2 to strike a deal.
I hear a lot of wailing & gnashing of teeth but are none of those so affected trying to find out if the car can be 'saved'? Myself, I think it's a pity, but market forces and reality are what prevails.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Ferrari/330/auction-339156118.htm#qna Interesting to see this pop up for sale here in NZ, it is a LHD, but it is being sold without any running gear. I assume the gear is going to go into another shell.
For future reference (when that link no longer works), we're talking about 330 GT 2+2 chassis number 6499. Still intact for the time being, but apparently will soon have its guts ripped out. I will say again what I said in a similar thread, if the result of this is two cars, one a high quality homage and the other a modernized 330, great! Only when 330's become as rare as what people are trying to replicate will I start gnashing my teeth.
LOL - a P4 replica? What else can be used than the engine - and the instruments? Why don't they get a loose engine for their project? Are they stupid? Best wishes, Kare
