A neighbor just got one of these last week so took the opportunity to compare it side-by-side with my '86. The new one hides it's 600 addtional lbs faily well I think, but can't imagine it being as much fun to drive as the original. Image Unavailable, Please Login
We have had our 2005 S2000 since new and love it! It has been a tremendous amount of fun and dead reliable. For the money I cannot think of another car that is close to as much fun. I also had an NSX for 7 years before I got the F355, it was a great car too. Hopefully Honda will start building fun and exciting cars again, they were fantastic cars.
You like the S2000 over the NSX? Among the many cars I want, the NSX or the S2000 on the list - curious your thoughts and why.
The other day I saw an S2000 in gunmetal with red interior. I have to say it looked really cool and the colors really complimented the car. I have never cared for it in bright exterior colors but this with the red interior was awesome. Oh yeah, put another quart of oil in the del sol (at 180,500 miles). Every 2000 miles like clockwork. It does a redline pull a couple of times a day when I get on the Interstate for my long commute. This winter it might be time to rebuild the suspension, creaky and squeaky all the time. Anyone know what a timing belt service cost at a Honda dealer?
I don't like the S2000 more than the NSX, the F355 I got in 2006 replaced the NSX and we kept the S2000. We wanted to have a small nimble convertible as we live in the mountains and the S2000 really hit the spot for that requirement. The nice thing with the S2000 is we can take it anywhere and not worry about vandalism, people just seem to love the car. The NSX is a larger car and we found we could not just take it anywhere and leave it without worrying something might happen to it. It was a wonderful car, I put 40,000 trouble free miles (a fair amount of which were track miles) and really enjoyed it. I do not think you could go wrong with either car and I do still miss the NSX.
Can't believe I missed this thread! I'm like the biggest Honda nut on the site! My parents recently picked up the new Honda Pilot to replace our Odyssey. Now that I can drive I've had a chance to drive the Pilot and our '01 Accord. The Accord is amazing, drives beautifully, the chassis is the same as the Acura TL that was in production at the time. The only difference is the Accord has less weight and about 10-20 less HP. The Pilot feels very numb, and understeers horribly compares to the Accord! Oh, and I got an invite to Honda Performance Development next month for their open house! Can't wait!
I'm not a 'Honda guy' but my current current DD is a S2000... it's one of the best cars I have owned and I love driving it! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just found this thread. I drive a couple of Honda race cars, great cars. Fast, reliable and inexpensive, or as inexpensive as racing can be, I suppose.
Thank you. Absolute maintenance-free pleasure to own and drive. Luckiest guy on earth. You ever get over here to dead-a$z broke Michigan give a shout! Hiya Palmer! Yes. Missed you all at Mid-O this past August (7th I think it was?). Both ALMS and Indy Cars were just superb races, and the weather was the best. Hafta wait some 42 weeks for this weekend to happen again?!?! Hope to see you there. Best to you and your folks. neal
308,000 miles on my 1994 Accord so far, I think that makes me a Honda guy even though I'm also a Ferrari guy, having had a 308.
Yeah, we were there, but not in the NSX unfortuneately. Hopefully next year we can round up some of the people that have been there over the last couple of years.
