Ugh, typical. Wheels too big, sits too high, tips wrong, bars in grille are too thick. I will pass like I do on 99% of all Hot Wheels.
From what I see of the interior it looks awful as well, like someone used about 20 coats of armorall.
I think it looks quite good actually. The rims may be a little too large but I would much rather have that problem than have an Enzo repeat. The shiny seats don't bother me. Neither do the incorrect tips. I'll be buying one for sure.
Either spend $115 plus shipping on this Hotwheels Elite 458 Italia OR spend $459 plus shipping for BBR 458 Italia. Image Unavailable, Please Login
$115 is well stiff for a crappy model. If it was still the old $79.99 price, I would still consider. Now its a hell no.
That's $115 for the model only. That does not include the shipping. However spending $459 for the BBR will give you satisfaction for just one model. You can buy 4 Hotwheels Elite models for that price which includes: 1. 458 Italia - $115 2. Magnum PI 308 - $70 3. 599 GTO - $115 ( future release ) 4 599XX - $115 ( future release ) That is a total of $415 on all four plus say shipping for each is $10. Grand total $455. Hey you still have $9 left for a small pizza and a soda for you to eat while enjoying your 4 new 1:18 Hotwheels Ferrari Elites. As opposed to spending $459 plus shipping on a beautiful BBR 1:18 Ferrari 458 Italia. Hey, it's a one vey good quality model you can enjoy without the pizza and a drink. Choice is all yours.
That is what I will be buying. So worth it for a quality model. I just wish they would lose that stupid box that will get stored or thrown away when the model is displayed and drop the price $30-$40!
I remember the days when Hot Wheels 1:18 scale models were in the $24-$36 price range...those days are sadly long gone. -G.B.
Oh Yes! I remember those years around mid 90's to early 2000. Regular Hotwheels were around $21.99 - $40.00! Now they've invented the Elites and jacked the price $30.00 more and some of their Elites still have mistakes. Look at the Elite 288GTO. I don't think you can find one right now that is less than $100 used or new. That's why I don't understand why AUTOART did not produce any single Ferrari. If they did oh man, that will be a sight for a sore eye. BBR's and MR's are way too expensive! KYOSHO is a very good brand and they did a couple of Ferrari's but not all. I'm still waiting and hoping that someday KYOSHO will produce a 1:18 F50, or a 348!
