Nice to see another one found and on its way to being restored! Also interesting to hear that it will be worth $400,000 after its restoration! ;)

Is that car really worth $400k?!?!

i know the 330 America is much more rare than a 250 GTE but I wouldnt have thought it would command 4x as much money. How often do reporters know anything about cars anyway...

Either way congrats to the finder! Wish it were me.

If the resto takes 20 years it may be worth $400k ;-)

A couple sold for more than $300k at the peak. I think they are now in the $175K - $250K range for very nice examples (just my opinion). A perfect one might get more.

I may have cost $400k, but it does not make it worth $400k

All joking about media mis-valuations aside, this is a great find. I'm sure the rust we be no small matter but it'll be great to see another one of these restored and back on the road. Perhaps the owner will stop in to share his progress? I hope so. :)

This guy is under the influence of heavy prescription medication if he thinks this car will be on the Pebble lawn any time soon. The $400K estimate is twice as much as any one with a Ferrari price guide at their disposal would pay. Another case of media hipe.

To be fair, I've been misquoted by the media a half-dozen times before so I doubt those were his own words. A passing mention that "some" 330's are worth $400k and that "it'd be cool to show at Pebble" can easily become "THIS is worth $400k and WILL be at Pebble Beach."

Such is the sloppiness of poorly trained journalists with no time/inclination to get the facts right.

I did find the car, Priceless was the Value from Just finding it. The Thrill
getting it and Knowing it was car #6 was a Rush.. Dollar wise a few
did fetch over 300k last year and I think one sold for 290 at the
florida show in january but 400 is steep. Its all the same. 100 point
car will be the goal and Yes were in no hurry, as It could/will take years.
Fortunately we do have the Right people and Parts to make it all worth the
while. But again, the real thrill is to Bring it back from the depths of sitting for
20 long years... The rust was actually not as bad as one would think, And the
glass is real nice without any Fogging or delaminating. Ill try and follow up as i
    get Time to.

    Russell,

Great find and good luck to you on the restoration!

www.tomyang.net will be a very useful resource for you. Tom documented the restoration of his America from start to finish and the guys that hang out there will be very useful in helping you solve issues as you progress.

Also, a restoration blog for the car will be a very good source of free advertising for your business.

    Regards,

    Art S.

I didn't post yesterday. I didn't see the video. Today after reading Russell's post I want to chime in. I loved seeing Russell on the video. The audio is so weak I really couldn't hear it. I would need absolute silence.

Russell, great find. I can imagine the thrill. I'm currently taking an extremely leisurely time reading the Cobra in the Barn. When I was thinking about this I was thinking about the louvers on the side. I was thinking it was the older set up. I like the 11 louvre a lot. My jaw dropped. I stopped the video . You have a 13 louvre car !!!

I was happy to hear that this car would be restored. I want to offer my best wishes to you. Relish the experience.

Russell, it's a big job,but you will have a good time doing it. I would like to hear your comments about rust after you have it stripped or sandblasted.
