necessarily - Didn't master the word until my late 20's...and to this day I still have to spell it out in my mind before writing it...definitely not automatic.
Same here. Also, there's an automatic spell check on my firefox internets, but seeing as I learned English the UK way and it corrects to the American one I always end up with lots of red squiggly lines
My solution is to write the word, but then write over the a with an e so it looks like I corrected my error, then my secretary can decide which way it is supposed to be. Receive is a word that I messed up for years, because for some reason I thought it was an exception to the i before e execpt after c rule. Turns out it's not...
