Lueg Sportivo is an official dealer. The factory apparently wants their official dealers to show only certified cars and that is what they "suggested" to this dealer. Hence the Daytona had to be replaced quickly. Think about the possible consequences for the poor dealer............

But both dealers had their own stands which they paid for by themselves...

They're really heavy-handed. Perhaps they should consider showing only authentic cars in the Galleria.....

Brand management has been a Ferrari strong suit. Which makes the apparent dilution of the marque by the ersatz Cali at the Galleria so odd.
Of course it is possible that it was just an oversight that no one wants to address at this point.

Sure, no doubt about that. But both are official dealers and thus have to strictly follow what the factory tells them to do (or not). Slaves..........

I think Ferrari Chat has played a very important role in holding a lot of things up to the light for discussion and I applaud Marcel for his contributions.

Marcel, do you know if this replica was bodied at Brandoli? In 2002 I saw a California being constructed there (I think you were there with us). Thanks.

    Best regards, Peter

A friend of mine, a native of Maranello, with some connections at the factory, tells me that Little Tony bought the car from Ferri Auto in Modena, and he implied that they did the conversion as well, using materials and highly skilled labor supplied by many specialty shops in the area.

I know this is off subject but if you go into 'forum -auto.com/sport-auto/th' there is a large thread about this car in Sweden including a comic strip of the crash with the truck and the rebuild as well as pictures and comments about the rebuild. I recimmend this. just one man's opinion tongascrew

Thank you very much for the info Marcel.

And sorry if this is an offtopic, or the info is not right, but maybe this 3 car could be included in this topic....

The first is a F1-87 (#103) stickers said that it was driven by Mansell, and Barchetta.cc say it was driven by Alboreto

The second is a 126 C2 (#052) stickers said it was driven by Villeneuve and Barchetta.cc say it was driven by Pironi

The third is the Lancia-Ferrari D50, I was think that noone of Ferrari´s D50 is alive, and this was a replica of a Lancia

The 2 first aren´t exactly a replica but if the car was driven by Pironi or Alboreto I prefer see his names than Villeneuve or Mansell

The last one is funny, as the car only ran as a Lancia and never a Lancia-Ferrari with the seperate side pontoons...and yes, it is a modern creation..

1957 is too early even for a LWB California Spider (except the Prototype 0769GT).

very strange things going on at the Galleria! - but as reported years ago, dont try to correct the people there or you will be thrown out.
almost happened to me, when i told them that the displayed "250 S" is a 166MM.
