    I've got a standard one - I thought about getting the 'to mars and back' edition but ended up with the normal one as I saw it on a shop and pounced on it.

    I have the standard edition. I like the latest LE except for the eagle sub-dial at 9

    Honestly, I would buy a sapphire sandwich (3573.50) if I had to do it over again.

    Same here, I have the 3570.50 and the love the classic look.


    I agree, it seems like I sneeze and my crystal is scratched.

    Go for it! These speedmasters are iconic watches, I still have my 40th Anv. Speedmaster (one with blue dials/bezel) and really like it. Back then, I compared the 35th and 40th LE speedmasters side by side at the store and decided to get the 40th but I always want a 35th too. I finally found a cheap 35th LE but the store lost the certifcate so skipped it.

    I wear the standard as my everyday watch. Don't know if I like the medallion on the moon LE.

    Might want to check with Chris at Valencia. Got mine used from him, looked good as new at a significant discount over the new in box price. He gets trades now and then on these, I guess.

    I like the good old standard one - mine is a standard dial and crystal but with a sapphire display back.

    I love my original Speedy Pro. Yes, the hesalite scratches. And yes it's easy to clean up with PolyWatch. I rarely take it off.

    If at all possible, try to find a 3572.50 Speedy. Its got a sapphire back, lovely hand-wound Lemania movement and Hesalite crystal. This watch was discontinued a few years ago so it will be hard to find NOS but there are mint condition pre-owned pieces available if you are persistent. The Hesalite crystal is domed and warmer (less blue) than the sapphire one. It has a definite vintage vibe to it. It's also the closest to the original Moon Watch, which also had a Hesalite crystal. Here's a pic of mine on an Omega mesh bracelet:

    Out of those I like the standard. My favorite is the Broad Arrow in Steel/Rose Gold with a Brown Face on a strap.

    I've got an old first generation Speedmaster moon watch with a back similar to the one in the photo. I just had the movement cleaned and adjusted and the case is nearly perfect. I no longer have the metal bracelet and it is on a new fine black crocodile strap (Hirsch). Any sense of what the value is? Thanks, George

    Very nice. I lioe the black strap with white stitching on the speedmaster. I am still debating getting an Omega deployment clasp and black alligator strap for mine.

    I had that and didn't care for it. Too dressy for me and I didn't think it suited the watch. Summer time I sometimes wear mine on a black carbon fiber look leather with white stitching.
