I'd like to mention "Bonnie and Clyde". Not the final scene, that wasn't a gunfight, but the battle against the police at the motor lodge.

You now the beginning of the movie when they shoot a pig from a Blackhawk? These are the tusks from the hog that was actually shot by the Delta studs whom the movie is based on. :D

    Heat is a gimme.

+1 for Way of the Gun - excellent weapons handling, moving and shooting, communicating, etc. I have a friend who refers to it as firearms instructor gun training porn.

Face Off has some pretty good gun fight scenes. Same with Broken Arrow and Mission Impossible 2.

[OK,total thread hi-jack,pls forgive me,back to guns in a second but]
MichaelMann is getting lots of props here, and good on him since 'Last of the Mohicans' was a well done movie, with guns too,and shot seven+/- miles from here[the fort scenes, they built it then torn it down when finished]and the lake scenes plus others and lots in western NC.
Oh,and MadeleineStowe, she was in the movie and was on location around here[wowser].
She didn't come to the gym but WesStudi did,and he was a serious dude.
Ok,sorry again.[But the movie biz is fun, especially seeing one done kinda close w/ MadeleineStowe esp!]

"FILL YOUR HANDS YOU SON OF B!TCH!!

Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) at a full gallop across a meadow, reins in teeth, firing his rifle in one hand and pistol in the other at Robert Duvall. (True Grit)

    What about.. Rambo.

I think the second one still holds the world record for most deaths shown in a movie.

I really like the Boondock Saints gun fight (not that it was truly a fight) when they fall through the ceiling in the hotel and start blasting away.

Finally saw Heat on tv, now I have the DVD! :)

Not quite a gunfight or great movie, but I always suffer from rec room envy whenever I see Tremors.

Broke into the wrong ******** rec room, didn't ya you bastard!

Don't know if anyone has seen it, but then ending shootout in "Apaloosa" is awesome. Very short, but as far as 'realism' goes, I think it is good for a western.

Saw this thread title and the "Heat" bank robbery scene immediately came to mind. Best gunfight I've ever seen in a movie & a kickass movie all around.

Most Michael Mann movies are good for attention to detail with regards to weapons....Heat, Collateral, Miami Vice and even The Kingdom.

    Ronin is awesome too.

    Blackhawk down....also awesome.

So many good ones out there.....

BTW: Heat coming out on Blu Ray soon! A must-have
