    Guys,

As you know, Heather's 69 Fastback has been out of commission for bit....the reason is that it is at Bristol Collision Center getting a facelift.... we are doing the Mach 1 tribute and the ball is rolling.

The reason I chose Bristol is that Gary the owner is a car nut! He has been in the valley for years, is a car guy, knows cars, goes to all of the shows...an enthusiast from the word GO. He also has a bunch of Ferraris in there....so if he can handle them.....I am sure he can handle the Fastback.

wow never thought I'd see a 69 mustang here, only reason i'm saying that is a 69 mach 1 is my first car. Got it when I was 15 as a father son project, restored it myself, I'm almost 19 now.

Yours is looking great, here's some pics of mine!

Mach 1, 351w-4v (M-code), Winter Blue exterior, black/red interior (seats, headliner, and everything redone by myself), custom trunk, etc. Only thing I have left to do is suspension and rims

    Dustin,

When I was in high school I spent alot of time wrenching/street/drag racing in my buddys 69 fastback back in 1971,72 (yellow/black, Cragar SS wheels and Mickey Thompson "60 series" cutting edge technology tires, headers, glasspacks, Holley dualfeed). Good times, great cars.

Whats the projected completion date on your pony ?

I think it will be out of paint in the next 2 weeks. I then have to put a dash pad, front window, carpet, redo the drivers seat.
I will keep it in this stage for a bit and I will then change the drivetrain and suspension

That looks great. I love seeing these Mustangs before and after; it's defenitely a project that I want to take on myself some day. The whole experience of stripping a car down and then rebuilding it from the ground up is something that really appeals to me for some reason :p I would think that you and your father have had a lot of great times working together on your car.

Gratification comes in the doing, not in the results.

the paint looks great, but I'm curious as to why they painted the black on first then put the red on top for the hood, normally it's the other way around...

Looks sweet though, can't wait to see it assembled!

oh and aaron1199, yes working on the car with my father has been a great thing. He has taught me a lot and now I can tear into almost anything myself without thinking twice about it. All this car stuff started when he got his 308qv for us to spend time together doing the ferrari thing!

next project up for us is another 69 mach 1, only this time a 428 cj with shaker hood scoop. Original short ratio 4-speed car w/ 3.50:1 traction lock rear end. It should be at our place this weekend!

That is the way the painter wanted to do it.
