The image is both distorted and then the photoshop color-change goes over the lines a bit, so it looks strange from this angle. But its a real car, ex-Sam Bardor...
I wonder what it was like when it was introduced back in it's day (mid 80's) along the mass produced 308 ? how come a limited production very expensive car LOOKS like a production "common" car just like the Murcielago/Reventon issue of these days ?

What was the price difference between the 911 and 930 vs the 308/328 and 288 in 1985? I do not know the numbers back then, but clearly the 288 has shown the better return on investment as a collector car over the 930 while both must provide equally wide smiles when you hammer the skinny peddle.
Per the original invoices (approx since I don't have them in front of me) my 288 was 75K ex-italy, plus another 25K or so to Federalize it. In '85 there really was no competition, more a case of "GTO there is no substitute"... I personally think of the GTO and F40 as being brothers with the same DNA and the 959 as the contempary competition to both. Certainly if we fast forward to today, there is no price similarity any more between any of the F-car range and the p-car range a scud is 2x a GT3RS for example.

The one and only time I was able to park my humble 308GTB next to a GTO at a Ferrari event, I was astonished at how different the two cars really are; for one, the GTO looks huge next to my car! Unfortunately, I didn't get a good picture. Perhaps someone has a photo of the two cars side-by-side? The differences are even more obvious in real life.
