I had a bittersweet visit to PF to final test Dino. She is ready to be driven anywhere. Note the removable cockpit air scoops that will make a huge difference on hot summer days. We had a great drive through the country side. Andrea was riding with Paolo and I.

Instead of leaving her in Europe to display this winter at the Ferrari Factory I've decided after driving her to bring her home instead and start racking up the miles.

Sorry to hear that she'll not be at the factory, was hoping to see her there. But i certainly understand your desire to drive at will!

Congrats and thanks for all the generous posts on all of your vehicles. Safe passage to you and 034. I doubt she will make it into the city but I'll keep my eyes peeled nonetheless.

Thanks Marcel. FWIW, I sincerely appreciate your fastidiousness in these matters. It serves to move many discussions from the realm of opinion to fact which is to the betterment for all parties concerned.
    Regards,

As they say, awesome car dude. It is like seeing the 60's version of the future comming to life, an ultimate what if.

    Is the Alfa carabo available?

I also remember as a kid that there was a p3 or p4 with a futuristic body on it. There was a
corgi model of the car in question, it was a favorite childhood toy. And I remember reading about it in one of my childhood car books.

Really awesome that someone is bringing the ultimate childhood models to life, it is true that being a grownup
    has its many advantages.

    Enjoy

You're probably thinking about P5 which is a PF Show Car built on a modified period chassis that most likely began as a Dino 206S chassis but definitely not on a P3 or P4 chassis. At the time it was built P5 was non running. It was built with a 3 liter F1 engine. Of the Later show cars Dino Competizione was rare in that it was a fully running car. I put it's first real milage on her at the Historic Targa Florio last June. She's now a fully sorted, fully functioning car.

Here are some pics (sorry bad resolution) of that beautiful concept car... I believe these pics are official Pininfarina pics but I'm not sure...

Story was this car was based on Jim's 0846 P3/4 chassis, but Jim made the argument that it was in fact not in his extensive documentation on 0846: http://www.glickenhaus.com/jim/project.pdf

There's no question what so ever that P5's chassis is not P3 or P4 and Pininfarina has confirmed that. P5's original body was scrapped or possibly used for an Alfa Show car and I believe the photo's are of the new body they made for it when they sold P5.

Beautiful car. The great thing about it's ownership is that it will actually be driven. Hopefully I will be able to see it next year somewhere?

Just a photo of that Alfa-Romeo, maybe with the modified P5 body. This car is based on a 33 stradale chassis.
