    I know this should go into the racing section, but I'd like to hear the local viewpoint since we know each other well.

    Dan Gurney built his own F1 car and raced it...the new drivers are modeling men's capri pants? What would Senna say?

    Anybody interested in watching these chicks shift with their pinkies Sunday?

    As sad as it is, F1 is a much bigger business now than ever before. With the need for heavy sponsorship, drivers are expected to do these types of things. Great F1 drivers are a thing of the past. Now we have parody and the guy with the most money, gets the best car.

    I gave up watching F1 a few years ago. God I miss WRC on SPEED...

    i don't know. i imagine a gay pop singer's aids foundation would have been pretty popular in the 50's.

    That is what probably bothers me most about this. I can live with the drivers taking part in the event. It is good press for them and for their sponsors who probably told them that they had to do it anyway. The fact that it is Bernie's daughter providing the "fashion" is a little revolting. I can see the conversation now:

    Petra: "Daddy, I want to be a fashion designer when I grow up. I know a lot about fashion, I go shopping alllll the time!"

    Bernie: "No problem dear, I'll set up a show for you at one of the biggest, and certainly most glamorous, sporting events of the year! Oh, and we'll do it for 'charity' so nobody minds."

    Petra: "What's charity..."

    Love that pic...

    Speaking of GP greats, has anyone seen 50 Years of F1 Onboard (or something like that...)?

    There were some great clips of Stirling Moss, Fangio, etc. I particularly liked the Nurburgring footage of Jackie Stewart.

    Also, the Senna footage at Suzuka was ridiculous...

    Those were the days...turbo engine, 1200bhp, manual shift trans, heel toe downshifts, ground effects, no driver's aids.
