In the market, but want to know if the 430 is worth the extra $$$ over the 360. I have to be honest, I think the 360 is better looking with a better front end. But does the 430 merrit all the critical acclaim. I know its a great car, but that price difference is huge.

Had a 360, now have 430. No comparison, with respect performance and F1 tranny. Aesthetics is a personal thing.
The 360 is a great car, but, if price is not an issue go for the 430. If it is, you'll enjoy the 360.

If looks is more important, get a 360. If the driving experience is more important, get a 430. To me, looks is a top priority. (Yeah yeah, I'm "shallow".)

Screw that! If driving is NOT important, then get a 360????
Uhm, I'd say that even if he just goes with the "looker", he's still going to have his hands full.
430 might just be 'a little fuller', but the 360 is still plenty of fun! :)

To be more specific, what does it really matter when it comes to the performance of either? Unless you are tracking and that second you save means a ton, I think it's unimportant.
Does 4.3 seconds vs. 4 seconds even from 0 to 60 (or whatever the numbers may be) really that critical?

I appreciate the posts and agree with all of them. But I'm not asking if the 430 is a better car, of course the performance is better. It's the next generation of the 360. But the question is the extra 75,000 to 100,000 k worth it.

I just think thats a lot of cash for a car that 95% of the people on the road would not be able to distinguish.

My vote is no. Obviously the 430 is better in many, many (if not all) regards, but the $$$ is just too hard to justify for me.

Said otherwise: I love my 360!!

If its your first Ferrari i say go with 360, you will probably never use and understand that difference on city traffic.
430 is 100k more of a car than 360 "mostly" because its a new model. If Ferrari builds a limited series of 360, i do not think the price difference will be that high between two new cars, at least if both are mt (considering that new 360's are not gonna be collectors/overpriced items). I mean its just 80hp short but lighter, without F1 nearly the same real life performance.

Use the 360, learn her responces and feel the ownership experience, than, if you got the means (buck) and need the urge to upgrade (depreciation, newer m.y., started to like the looks of 430 etc..) you will have a great car to upgrade..
Thats just what i'm gonna do when 430s prices falls a lil more and if i can convince myself that the front bumper on 430 does not looks that bad..

Ask yourself this question, new 360 and new 430, both mt, will you pay 100k more? Or will you pay 100k for just F1&manettino. (ok, ok, i know its not JUST that, but hey, can't let you bash 360 ;))
Most Fcars are rarely driven low miles cars in near mint condition, why pay more if you can have the looks you like for less, even if its F1. (btw, i'm biased i got mt, tried F1 a few times but it didnt do it for me).
if i buy a 430 it will def. be F1 thoug.

    just my $0.02

    cheers

I love my 360. It has the F1 tranny, and it is a lot of fun to drive on normal roads. It is a great value and the I dont think the 430 is worth 100K more at this time. Wait a few months and the 430 will go down in value, especially if Ferrari replaces it with a new model. I have not driven the 430, but I have had a ball driving the 360.

88 more hp, much more torque, esp down low, throater exhaust note, better handling , e- dfferential, stiffer chassis and nice interior with much better f1 tranny and the adjustable steering wheel settings....this is what the 430 gets you...the 6 speed seem the same on both cars...in real world driving, there is big difference in the cars performance..if you can feel 88 more hp and almost as much more torque then you are deluding youself...i drove both cars back and back and they are very different animals...with that said, the 360 is great car, esp with the 6 speed manual, and is more than enough car for 99% of drivers..the 360 is the better deal per dollar, the 430 is the better car is the extra money doesnt mean much to you financially.......

It depends on what year and miles the 360 in question is. There are some 430 cars in the $180s and if the 360 is in the $160s, then the 430 wins hands down.

Looks, it depends as a 360 goes a little more notice than a new corvette, I had one and almost no glances from anyone, but that is if you care about that.

0-60 mph is a big difference, a 430 will just pull away from a dead stop, also it does feels a lot quicker and faster.

Maybe for you or others it isn't worth the $75k extra, but if the difference is $30K then the 360 is yesterdays news.

Been grappling with this decision myself. I tried out a 360 and Gallardo from Chris at Dream Cars West (good prices at under $1000 per day and Chris is a good guy so I have to give him a plug (I have no financial relationship): 800-671-1889 - delivers to AZ) and a 430 more recently.

The price difference is not that great. If you're comparing a 99 360 to a 2005 430, then it's a 100K difference, but most of that is due to the car being older in years. If you look at a 2005 360 vs 2005 430, the price gap is not large.

I found the 360 had less power than I would have expected for an exotic, and the Gallardo, while having great torque, felt heavy. The paddle tranny's on both cars were a little awkward and I would almost would recommend a manual, if you don't have to drive in the city.

The 430 pretty much met all my expectations of what an exotic should drive like. The F1 paddles are much smoother and the extra 20% horsepower is something that will definitely put a smile on your face, even if its just going from one stop sign to the next.

But $200K for a toy is a lot of money in my book. Best of luck making your decision!

I guess it depends on if you're buying the car for you or for "95% of the people on the road".

I had a 360 and now have a 430. I was able to buy a new 430 at MSRP. Otherwise I would still own the 360. If you need an F1 I would do the 430.
