While I haven't seen 35525 since it went overseas, it was FAST when it was here! Lots of mods to the car. I'm curious what the Classiche Department would think of that! CW
Sounded awfull again this weekend at the finali mondiali at mugello... A miracle in itself that it managed to finish.
No. No red brigade present. They were concentrating all their italian chaos on the F1´s. The guy who always helped out FD when he still owned the car, was now working on it again together with FD´s Daytona. By the way, I noticed that this particular BB had a slide valve on the throttle bodies like the 512S/M have instead of butterfly valves, anyone have any idea if this is period?
in FML no.25,Vol.32 ,15 december 2007,is s/n 38179 for sale thru Ron Spangler's Prancing Horse Farm... regards ivo
Never thought I would live to see the day when this car became available! http://www.prancinghorsefarm.com/512.html Thanks, Ivo, for the heads up! CW
Hello Ivo, Well, a couple of weeks ago this same car was offered to us for 2.2M USD! This was not by Prancing Horse Farm! But an other very well known US broker. ABBA: "Money, money, money, Must be funny, In the rich man's world...." Tom
Haven't spoken to Ron about the asking price, yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a nice agent's "premium" in the $2.2MM. CW
Interesting. Just wondering what you guys think the asking should be? Obviously reals ones don't come around that often. Sorry for the off topic, but the one owner Daytona they have is to die for! http://www.prancinghorsefarm.com/Daytona.html
Still a strong price! Hopefully, a deal can get done around there somewhere! Vasco - there have been a few that change hands fairly frequently. Within the past 24 months, I'd estimate that at least 6 have changed hands (35527, 29507, 32131, 38181, 34445 and 32129). Interestingly, several of these have been acquired by previous BBLM owners (specifically, Morici, Wegner and Schultz). So, 38179 would be the 7th to change hands in this period. CW
Interesting. Thanks. Would you happen to know the ballpark price for the BBLM's you mentionned? Thank you again.
R. that means that PK (32129, bought in 2003) and TM (38181, also 2003) sold their BBLM just recently? Tom
Tom, My dates may not be exact. However, Morici and Wegner both purchased BBLMs after selling their first BBLMs (in particular, Wegner, IIRC, has owned 3 over the years). Schultz bought his second one and then sold 29507 recently to Europe. Also, didn't 35525 sell within the past 2 years? I remember Guikas offering it fairly recently. So, if my dates are off, I apologize, but in the past 48 (?) months, 8 have changed hands. A full 1/3rd of the BBLMs out there. Anyway, to Vasco's question about prices. I've heard of at least 3 or 4 of the recent transactions being north of $1.2MM. Last I heard was in the $1.3MM range. But, again, there may be others with more current and accurate information. Corrections are always welcome. CW
35525 ----> YES to C. Traber (CH) Prices ---> CORRECT 1.2M So Knapfield and Morici did not sell their cars recently.
Tom, Correct. Morici and Knapfield (ex-Wegner) still own their respective cars to the best of my knowledge. I meant that they acquired their cars within the past 48-month period. Also, Morici sold 35527 (now with Wegner) and then acquired 38181 (ex-Hartmann) within the same period. Confusing, I know. Also, spoke with Spangler about 38179. Firm at USD $1.9MM. I'd be very happy to see him get it. CW
