That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen! It looks like they took a Ferrari P4/5 and sqwished it and pulled it in all directions.

    Ugly, ugly, ugly!

It's designed by the same guy who did the P4/5 at Pininfarina. Check on past threads on this car if you want to know more.

I think it looks fine and has similar characteristics to past Pininfarina showcars.

I know that it was designed by the same fellow that designed the P4/5, that's why they look so similar...it's still disgusting though.

Very radical, but claustrophobic and I expect very warm in, say, Miami or Dallas in August. I need to have a window to roll down.

Here are a couple of pictures I took of the Birdcage 75th at Pebble Beach 2005. If you look closely at the second one (just the new car), you'll see someone rather famous in the driver's seat... no, not me. ;) Any guesses?

PS- Both pictures are copyright by me, may be used, but credit must be given. Thanks.

Wasn't about to call you out, but you've outed yourself!

Here's the picture I was looking for. Without people in the background! ;)

    Regards, Jim.

That's the problem with shooting through glass, you can't see beens. From this shot all I can telll is that there are two people in the car, I can't even tell which side is the drivers side. :(

Right then. Pardon the mistaken identity, but somehow knew you were in attendance. The linen is much better than the brown anyway. :)

That's Ralph Lauren in the earlier shot in question.

Jim- Thanks for stopping by our regional forum. What, if any, are the commonalities between P4/5 and the Birdcage concept?

    Regards,
    Tad

It looks awesome IMO, but if you get in a rollover accident then how are you going to get out?

Birdcage is a Pure Showcar built on rebuilt MCC race chassis that only can be used for demonstrations at low speed as chassis was repaired and may not be safe for high speed runs. It was an exercise to stretch the boundary's and point to the future.

P 4/5 is a fully engineered car designed to be driven any time any place.

PF could easily make a road going fully engineered version of the Birdcage and if any one's interested I'll be happy to put you in touch.
