    I have a 2002 C230 and when I slow to stop, just before the car is dead stopped, I feel a bump or thump like some just rear-ended
    me really softly ??

    It's really noticeable and happens at almost every stop ???

    Any ideas ?

    Does your car have the stupid electronic brake assist thing? All Benz's with that feature do that a little.

    mine does it as well 2006 E55.. dealer says its 'normal' :)

    I would look in your manual and see if you have those brakes. If so, there *may* be a few software updates that you really should get. It seems MB is always releasing new software for them, especially after they were causing brake failures in E classes.

    I worked at a benz dealer last summer, alot of the C classes did this, I also attributed it to going down into first... to me it felt like a slight hesitation and then a gentle nudge forward.

    My 2006 C230 sport sedan does this. Sometimes, I feel it when I'm stopped. And it's manual transmission, too.
