OK, but the lights became too small! the rear end looks much too bulky!

    Ciao!

    Hi Walter,

You have to learn that tastes are tastes. Your taste is not my taste... or anybody else taste.
Regarding the 612, IN MY OPINION, it is stunning. Sure it is big and fat but the line is overall perfect.
Regarding the sales number you are very wrong the waiting list is almost 1 year in Portugal and 2 in Spain.
Ferrari is not complaining of bad sales at all.
I think that in other markets, is the same.

Don't forget that it is the most expensive Ferrari on the market and these are not easy times regarding Global economy, so it's resale price is a bit lower.
The demand makes the price. And now Ferrari is not so different from Mercedes or BMW or Porsche...regarding the investement. We are not in the early 90's.

    Regards,

    Mont

Just because the 612 does not command $50-100k premium and 2-4 year waiting lists, does not make it a bad or undesirable car.

It's only right the Mas Coupe is slower than it's German competition...

M6 and CL owners need all that power to make the quickest get away possible so they can avoid the embarrassment of driving such ugly, plastic cars. Meanwhile the Maserati owner is taking his time, savoring the car, and allowing everyone around to enjoy its sexy bodywork. ;)

no one said that it is not a good car! the german Ferrari-market is the the 2nd strongest worldwide. here the 612 is not a runner! And even the boys with PF confirm their design mistakes with it!

    Ciao!

Personally I like the 612, it looks much better in the metal than in pictures (just like the 599). It is all about proportions. I like the minimalist tail, what I don't like is the front end (not aggressive enough) and the wheels (too small and boring design). I find the 612 looks almost perfect in black or pozzi blue with aftermarket 20'' wheels, which look much better proportioned for the size of the car. It is IMO a much more stunning car than the BMW M6 (looks too tall and fat in real life, no sportscar) or the Merc CL (old man's car).

Regarding prices: I WISH I could get my hands on a Scaglietti 50% off list price! Here in Switzerland the cheapest Scagliettis go for about 250,000 Sfr. which is about 70% of new price, after 3 years!! I think no other 4-seater GT achieves such good market residuals: even the Aston DB9 depreciates faster (I can find 2-yr old DB9s for 180,000 Sfr, which is also 70% of new price, but after 2 years not 3).

The new Maserati promises to be another stunningly beautiful 4-seater GT, but unfortunately for me it misses the raw performance of the 612. Now, a Granturismo with a V12 engine, that would be something to think about...

Nice animated video. I think Maserati has really stepped up to the plate styling wise here............simply gorgeous. Can't wait to see it in person.

i am all over that car as soon as they get the first car production bugs out of the way. Whats the deal with all the buttons next to the light switch to the left of the steering wheel.

caution, this is a very large picture
    http://www.autoblog.it/galleria/big/maserati-granturismo-interni/12

but it shows they are buttons for things like fuel, trunk, sunroof, instrument contrast, cruise control.

Also I think there will be few problems, the car is based on the Quattroporte, and it uses the same engine/drivetrain as the current car. I don't think the outgoing car has had many problems, at least from what people have said on here.

I have not seen the "GranTurismo" live but what I have seen so far I find the car designwise inside and outside quite boring not to say ugly. Non che classe

I love the exterior but the interior remains bland despite the gaudy red leather smattered indiscriminantly all over.

The car looks great but it needs more power and F1 shifting. Amazing road presence with it!
