Saw 35525 at Spa 2004, driven by Gilbert Sergent. So he is not the owner.

Well, not always true. Drivers are not always the owners. Anyway, 35525 was sold to Guikas in 2003, and is still offered for sale by him today.

On the entry list for this years Lemans Classic their is also a Mr Bernecker from Germany with a BBLM, but it doesn't say which chassisnumber.

6 BBLM's will be out there, looking forward to enjoy that event!!

    Hi there,

yes, we will enter 22715 at this years Le Mans classic and it will be interesting to see if we can compensate the slight lack of power to factory LM's with driving finesse (grin).

    cheers,

    Jens

Yes he is. Gilbert bought it from Jean.

Guikas is a buyer and seller - that's his business. (he also drives REALLY well!)

"Matching Numbers" doesn't exist with 512 BB LMs.
29509 is with James Fuchs of West Allis/WI, USA.
And yes, 35525 is owned by Gilbert Sergent. Not just driven by him.

But they are fitted with a specific enginenumber and gearbox number when delivered new (and when looking at the build sheets) Some have raced with more then one engine. Pozzi and NART had more engines then cars.

    26683 engine 001
    32129 engine 013
    34157 engine 019
    35527 engine 024 (http://www.ferraris-online.com/cars/FE-512BBLM-38181/spares1.html)
So why are these cars not "matching numbers"?

With non-matching numbers I meant to say that, for example, 26683 does not have an engine also stamped 26683, and, another example, 32129 does not have an engine also stamped 32129. Chassis and engine number are not identical (therefore: not matching). This means that the engines for these cars have their own numbering system, as you also pointed out.

I herewith CORRECT my own statement in which I said that the 512 BB LM engines are numbered with five (5) digits. This is NOT always the case. There are also 512 BB LM engine number stampings out there with four (4) digits, some also with five (5). But probably not with just three (3) digits. I apologize for the confusion. See also photos below.

Oke, what are the differences between SII and SIII Marcel?
    How many engines were made?

Differences: You have to go by YEAR, and by build sheets, nothing else. Each car was individually built by Gaetano Florini's Assistenza Clienti at the old building in Viale Trento Trieste in downtown Modena.

How many engines: Highest known engine number is 0032. Therefore, if we assume that they began with engine number 0001 up to at least 0032 it is fair to guess that they built at least 32 engines, most probably several more.

    Engines by Sauro?
I thought the cars by Bachelli & Villa in stead of Florini's A.C.
How many replica's? (22255 is one)

WHO says "engines by Sauro"?? Sauro Mingarelli and Luciano Rizzoli are/were excellent engine RESTORERS in Bologna, of course.

Bachelli & Villa does bodywork for BB LMs.

Replicas? No idea and no interest at all. Does anybody really care?
