Kar Kraft was owned by Ford Motor Co. The chassis Plate reads as above. Ford was listed as mfg. on FIA/Le Mans papers as well.

Of course rarity is an important issue in collecting. Don't confuse this with being superficial (sp?)/

No, at the time Kar Kraft was owned by the Hartman family. I went to school with their kids.

The persian carpets are hysterical. Only other time I've seen that was in an Arab friend's benz in houston.

I have a random question: what's the significance of blue cloth for seats? Nearly every vintage racecar I've seen sports them (the blue leather on the yellow cut gto creation is something else...), and I never understood the history.

Could it have something to do with fire resistant material?

I don't like the carpets either, but they're just thrown in. This is a driver's car, just look at the two emblems on the side. Others (like Billiam) can better comment on this, all I heard is that this was one hot group doing their tours. So it only makes sense to protect the interior.

Arlie: I know it's generally made of nomex but nomex comes in any color you want. The blue must have more significance than that?

    --Dan

PS: who cares if the seat is a littl efire resistant if the rest of the car is ablaze?

The rest of the car isn't touching your "rear end" while it's blazing!

Which is why I said "sister car". I believe they were done by the same people (not sure though).

Ah, I was unsure of your meaning. I don't know if they were done by the same people or not. I saw the yellow one at Ferraris on Oak Street in 2004 (pretty sure it was 2004)...

EDIT: I shot an email over to Genaddi, asking if they could clarify if the yellow one is one of theirs... I'll keep y'all posted.

Yes it was there in 2004. It appears periodically at Ferrari events around Chicago.

"0460 AM is the yellow 375 MM Spider Pinin Farina of 1954. Sold new to Mrs Willamenta Keck Day (Superior Oil Company), and until today in the same family ownership (!). Spectacular color combination yellow with green leather, the November 1955 Road & Track cover car. See also Cavallino magazine issue #69 of June 1992. No race history but fabulously original."

marcel - i´ve never seen a pic of 0460. the colour combination sounds very attractive. could you please post a pic ?
    grazie mille

Is that enough for you? For me it isn't. For me the Bubba Specials are Ferraris only in their past.
