Picked up car from dealer for ongoing A/C issue/ I took a hard right into my neighborhood & the motor died. Now I have no Tach- I pulled the instrument panel off & pulled off the connector to the tack & reattached & still dead.

    Any ideas?

Yes it fired right back up. I found the quick disconnect on the battery was not tight so I removed it as I dont need a repeat. Thats when I lost the Tach.

A bad speedo sensor can knock out the tach? According to the manual, the signal for the tach comes from the 5/8 Motronic ECU. Possibly a problem with the TDC/revs sensor for the 5/8 bank?

Hey Ernie, how's it going? Between the job and travelling it's been pretty hectic. 14 months left before I can go back home. How have you been?

Picky correction: according to the manual, the 5/8 sensor is at 9:00 o'clock in your picture, and the 1/4 sensor is at 6:00 o'clock, not the other way around.

As these things (crank sensors) get older, we've had the plastic housings for the multi-pin connectors crumble and the connection works apart...

Particularly on cars that see track days...
