Ho man, Sunday's Simpson was just a riot! No wonder they opened 2005 with it. Loved the wooden plane too! Funniest episode...numerous Winnipeg references...coincidence? Wes
My two favorites are Lisa becomes a vegetarian and the one where Marge gets addicted to gambling. Third would be the Australia one.
Tree house of horrors.... Homer Kong Burns "A woman on a ship... What do you think Smithers" Smithers: "Well Sir I just don't think Women and Seamen Mix" Burns: "Yeees Smithers, We ALL know what you think..." My Favorite was the Chili Eating contest with the Merciless Peppers of xotiocapabal grown deep in the jungle primeval by a group of inmates at a Guatemalan Insane Asylum... And Homer the Food Critic...
I like the one where the simpsons go to Africa, and find the woman who has enslaved the chimps to work in her diamond mine. The killer in this ep is Homer's line, "I can't help but notice that your house smells of feaces". I nearly puked from laughing!
Far too many to list but my favorite so far is when Homer discovers that he has a long-lost half brother, Herb Powell, who is the wealthy CEO of a car company. When Homer and Herb meet, they instantly hit it off and Herb takes in the Simpson family as his own. Herb hires Homer to help design a car for regular guys, but Homer's design proves so disastrous that it bankrupts Herb's company and forces the brothers apart once again. Cape Feare (w/ Kelsey Grammar, aka Sideshow Bob) Mr Plow (w/ Linda Ronstadt) Whacking Day (w/ Barry White) Speaking of Whacking Day, does anyone know if other colleges have a St. Pat's tradition of beating snakes in the ground with a shillelagh besides UMR?
Best show on TV. Waaaaay too many good ones to pick just one. Some that come to mind are; the one where they had all of the baseball players on......Don Matingly, Daryl Strawberry, Roger Clemmens, etc....where they were ringers for the company softball team. Also the Flaming Moe episode with Aerosmith. Episode where Bart sells his soul to Millhouse. Etc., etc. I missed this past Sunday's episode, will have to catch a rerun.
Oh I remember that one too. I love the part where Homer is running around like a madman after eating the hot peppers....runs through the fence.... Someone wants to stop him and is told "No, leave him alone...he knows what he's doing." That one always killed me. Loved your other quotes too. Wes
After going back in time: Homer (to self): "Remember the advice your father gave you on your wedding day..." Flashback to Grampa: "If you ever travel back in time, don't step on anything becasue even the tiniest change can alter the future in ways you can't imagine!" And, my favorite from this one (which I use nearly every time I make toast)... Regarding the "repaired" toaster: "Now, to take her for a test toast"
I've always been fond of the episode where the family gets a pool. Between the Amish Barn Raising scene (A mighty fine barn, English, but tis not a pool...) to Bart becoming a recluse, good times. Best exchange of the episode comes when Bart thinks that Flanders killed Maude, and is going to kill Lisa. He calls 911, but gets the automated 911. 911 Machine: "Please select the crime being committed (reads list)" Bart - Randomly presses buttons on the phone 911 Machine: "You have entered Regicide. If you know the name of the king or queen being murdered, press 1..."
For all Simpsons fans, if you've never been to this website, it is THE most comprehensive Simpsons site ever. www.snpp.com (short for springfield nuclear power plant )
Monarail...Monarail... Cheif Wigam singing..I just broke tha tab off my pudding can.. Salemen singing..try my pen knife my good man! Cheif Wigam..We have a fire..a big fire..bring marshmellows..I repeat..bring marshmellows...
Homer confronted by fearsome space aliens: "Oh my God! Space aliens! Don't eat me. I have a wife and kids! Eat them."
The one where Bart goes to Knoxville, TN. I lived there 10 years. That was the funiest thing ever written about that town.
I think that's what really kills, is when it's about a place where you live. That's probably why I liked Sunday's episode so much. But it was funny. I don't remember it exactly, but I love when Homer's dad bursts in the front door, Homer yells "Dad", and Abe says something like "Finally, I got the right house! This is the 4th one I've run into!" That was great... Wes
I love the one where Homer becomes sanitation commissioner: Homer: "Yeah I'm talking to you....you trash eatin' stinkbags!" Garbageman: "What did you say?" Homer: "I don't know...a lot of people were yellin' stuff". The one where Homer becomes a Missionary after scamming PBS: "It's a wonderful day to kick your a55!" "Elmo knows where you live" and the best quote: "Save me Jebus!!!!!"
