I saw that post that was almost immediately removed. They wanted $25K for EVERYTHING except the chassis and body.

Oh ... I recently bought a 246 engine/gb so I didn't need one, but I was sorely tempted to contact him. I have a 206 engine as well and lots of bits from a racing 206 that was just renovated. I have way too many Dino engines

He has only thing to do with this project is buying all the parts taken out. They sell to him when they don't use the parts so he goes there every few weeks to collect more. That is his involvement, to save and reuse the parts not used.

I just post here for interest, maybe I will not if it makes you so angry.

Sorry. The internet is hard to convey context. I think I’m more sad than angry, but I appreciate your posts and am happy to hear your friend is getting the parts at least.

Of course, no problem, thank you for the kind words.
I think it is very difficult for some Dino car lovers to see but important to document such things so we can be informed.
    Regards.

Thanks for posting all the photos.
Sad but interesting to watch the destruction of an original Dino 246 GT by people who understand nothing.
    Still no chassis number ?

I understand and sympathze with this motivation.
No electric car is good looking, and they all appear to run out of design monies at the B pillar

I'm sure everybody saw the car at SEMA and consequently my friend has all the parts taken off finally together after 18 months of waiting.
Here is everything that comes off that Dino EV laid out. Just needs a body/frame!

What’s the plans with the parts? Will they be sold?

I will ask him but I think it will be sold as one lot. He tried to buy the burnt Dino from Gullwing but it was sold before he made the deal plus they would not take less than $100k for it which seems was too much. Then he tried to find the abandoned Dino in Zimbabwe but it is not traceable, even he send someone there to ask but no luck.
So I think it probably goes on BAT in one lot together but I’m not sure.

I just hope this electric thing on wheels burns into the ground one day.

I think if your friend bought everything they discarded for this silly EV project and has the means to hold on to them, perhaps he should wait until this EV has lived its 15 minutes of fame(?), if it hasn't already, buy it (likely at severe discount since it's useless as is ?) and either restore it or sell everything to someone who has ability, courage, fortitude & means to see it through.

From what I understand the guy who build the EV is a crypto rich man and he loves it(!) so unlikely to sell ever or any chance to go back.
Best thing would be to get a hand build body from someone like Tommy Bristo in England and make a new Dino... but I cannot say for sure.

As sad as it may be, I wouldn't be surprised.
There are so many "crypto" & EV enthusiasts who aren't really car guys, but feel a need to be seen as one and think these "creations" are their ticket to be recognized as such.
OTOH, there are plenty of ICE drivers/owners with same insecurity issues.
I don't usually take them seriously until I've been convinced of their annual mileage accumulation (or race track use) bonafides.
Just because someone owns a bunch of cars, modern or vintage, doesn't necessarily make them a "car guy" in my book.

Look at the way they disassemble the rear mirror and fuse board - these did not know what they were doing
