    Hi all,

    Just to confirm my theory.

I am reading the specs on Stock vs Scuderia wheels:
    F430:
    7.5Jx19 ET31mm
    10Jx19 ET39mm
    Weight: 27.27lbs and 29.87lbs

    Scud:
    8Jx19 ET31.5mm
    10Jx19 ET39mm
    Weights: 25lbs, 28lbs
So not only the scud wheel in front (rears are identical) is wider by 0.5" , or 12.7mm, but it has a higher positive offset by 0.5mm.
So it will sit more "outside" in the wheel well by 6.85mm. [(the wheel width difference divided by 2) + the extra offset] Correct ?
Also, are the weights roughly right ? I found them in various threads.

Trying to spec a set of aftermarket wheels to my liking

    Thank you

Same wheel sizes as Scuderia, I just want them 5 and 10mm F/R extra offset so they look better, nothing crazy.

You and KennyD worked out getting 20" rims and another 20mm of tire width on the ground in the rear? You're my heros - but now I'm kicking myself for dropping $1K in new 19" rear tires within the last week...

This is a great site that I’ve used to spec wheels for many of my cars. You can enter a baseline wheel specification and a new wheel specification and the site will give you a comparison in terms of how much the new setup will poke out farther than the baseline and how much closer the new setup is to the strut.

the 305/30/20 differs by a good 33mm in diameter from the stock rim... not sure how happy will the e-diff be in the long run... especially when pushed harder. I would not do it in my opinion.

235/305 is the exact same ratio as the stock 225/285 setup.
    Your car will not know.
Not sure where your coming up with the 33mm number, it's 27" vs 27.1"

I am sorry, you are right, my bad. I did not refresh the page or something. It shows very minimal difference (under 10mm)

All the pictures I see online of a front Scud wheel (for sale) show 7.5' ET31.5... I thought it has 0.5' thicker wheel in front. What gives ?

Mario, be sure you're not looking at "Scuderia style" rims, which were available for the F430 via the Ferrari accessories programme. These look identical to the wider Scud wheels, except they are the same width as the standard F430 wheel. Genuine Scud wheels are wider to clear the Scud's bigger CCMs.

Thank you; I was not aware they existed. I almost bought them but then I realized they are not the 8" wide Scud wheels...

Yet another picture of a rear scud wheel, showing an ET38mm of the rear, 10x19". Can someone with a REAL Scuderia post , maybe you have looked at the wheels and confirm the sizes... Thank you.

Thanks; I just can't explain the photos I am seeing on second hand wheels with all kinds of offsets different than what we know... maybe they are aftermarket ?

Ferrari got them from different manufacturers, so no telling.

So ; stupid question. Do you keep your OEM wheels or just sell them after you go aftermarket... I have limited space as I also keep 2 sets of wheels for my other RWD cars (winter/ summer)... I would like a set of scud wheels on my F430 and then just drop the OEM's... It looks better with them and they are Ferrari wheels (in my - maybe stupid - thinking) .

I like the factory Scud wheels and would not have gone aftermarket except that I hit a small pothole which bent the front right wheel. My initial search turned up similar results to you. Scuderia 'style' wheels or factory wheels that were either in a fire or someone had welded back together. Slim pickings.

So I just bought some aftermarket wheels while I carried out my search for a replacement wheel. I hated to have the car just sitting there and not being able to drive it. I will likely get another wheel in due time and then sell them as a set.

If you are willing to splash, Eurospares has them in stock for 2921 Pounds per piece... with shipping, almost 4K USD.

I spoke to the BC Forged guys, that's almost the price for a full set and they are under 23 lbs in weight for rears and 20lbs for fronts (a saving of about 16lbs or so in unsprung mass... that is a lot).

I didn't click with that design initially (RZ21) , but the more I look now @kenneyd video and your pics @norphaedrus they look aggressive, it would look good in gloss black on my yellow car with yellow calipers.

    hmmm, decisions decisions.

I convinced myself that if Ferrari put that style of wheel on the 599 GTO then it would be ok.
