All, Any updates on Manual Conversions for the 599 GTB? I am considering having the conversion done since the 6spd MT has always been an interest and I have had a 10K mile pristine 599 for about 6 or 7 years. The information that I am hearing is that the converted cars are a much better driving experience. Any one have one that works right or has the experience with the problems that will arise? Any information or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jack
Engine and body coding has been solved now- same method I used on my 612 works fine on 599. In fact the changes to the engine ecu coding for the conversion are an improvement over the factory calibration for manual cars, which seems to have been a properly half arsed effort by the factory. Parts supply is improving too, not just from Ferrari, but now with a few people taking scans and moulds of the key parts needed for the conversion. Over time as more cars have issues with F1 systems, I would expect the take up for conversions to increase, which should keep this supply stimulated. Fundamentally however, the car was designed to be manual capable from the start, though it’s fair to say that the 599 conversion is a good bit more involved than for 575 or 612. From an ownership experience, I can say that the conversion will bring a whole new dimension to driving the car. Whether it’s an improvement or not is down to personal preference; certainly the F1 system on the 599 was close to as evolved as the technology got. There’s something quite majestic though about feeling in command of the gearbox attached to a big V12. A truely rare experience in this day and age. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
i cant speak first hand as i dont own a 599 but i spoke to EAG earlier today and they have been simultaneously working on my scud and a 599. My scud is finished and will be shipped to me next week. i got the sense that the 599 is also near finished or finished and working properly.
Who can convert a 612 and what would the ballpark price be? Or if not price, dollars in parts and hours in labor? Matt
I can help with a lot of the parts if you want to take a more DIY approach. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Anyone know a shop in the UK that does a 599 conversion? And would you be able to convert a HGTE, I know they didn't make any factory HGTE manuals.
I'm working with an owner right now who is using these guys to convert his 599: https://sbraceengineering.co.uk/ Can put you in touch with the owner if you want? I'm sure he'd be happy to talk about his experiences. Its honestly not that hard though; any experienced garage should be able to manage it. The only really tricky bit is the coding, but as alluded to above, I can sort that out.
Interesting Robin, thank you. If you could, and the owner doesn’t mind, that would be great. are OEM parts for the conversion still available?
Hi Darius, Will PM you with his details- says he’s fine to chat 599 conversions. You can still get most parts, either from Ferrari or by scouring the used parts market. There are a few parts that seem to be unobtainable though in OEM form (clutch pedal being one of them), but there are other options now. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
After visiting with Art and seeing the work that is coming out of their facility, I have committed my 599 to their conversion. Really nice folks who know the vehicles well. Anyone that is considering a conversion should contact Art or David and you will receive the truth of the project. Incredible surprise to find out that my office is within ten minutes of their San Antonio facility. It will be difficult not to wear out my welcome. Thanks for the help in the decision process. Will update experience as the project develops. Best, Jack

One factory RHD HGTE? That's quite a collector piece. Thanks for the clarification. and this means a HGTE manual conversion is possible, yes? What about a manual GTO conversion?
Agreed; I should be receiving a GTO ecu in the coming weeks, whereupon 360trev will be able to find out what Ferrari put in there and we'll be able to confirm if there is anything in the ecu's that make a GTO conversion any more difficult. I would be surprised if there is, but its still technically yet to be proven. Mechanically there's no reason a GTO conversion is any more difficult than a GTB conversion.
Well, previous posts explained it is possible AND a GTO conversion does exist. Have a look at the post : 599 gated stick manual Official picture thread
