List your top 5 Ferrari 8 cylinder designs. Mine are listed below in order of earliest to latest. It's too tough for me to put them in order of favorites. That changes almost weekly

    - 288 GTO
    - F40
    - 328
    - 355
    - F8 Tributo

The last one might surprise some, given that the rest are all older models, but I have to say, the F8 Tributo, to me, is stunning. They really nailed it.

I would have to include 458 instead of F8.
458 design was so ahead of its time that I thought Ferrari messed up when I first saw 458 back in 2009. McLaren made mp4-12c which was more in line with the design trend back then.

Now 458 looks pretty up to date while mp4 looks like one of those no name brand european sportscar.

It's a shame the Dino didn't get an 8-banger or that would have made my list for sure. Other than that I'd agree with the list, even though it's tough for me to put a model on the 5-best list that is turbo'd and can't be optioned with a M/T. I'd almost substitute a 308 for the F8 on that basis, but the F8 is one sweet machine.

I'd put the 488 and or the F8 in there if it wasn't for the disappointing lack of sound. I've driven both and I just can't get past how sterile they are. Both are gorgeous designs, especially the F8 for me, but they've crossed a line IMO that makes them more Porsche like than Ferrari. The "emotion" just isn't there like it used to be. :(

Every aspect of a car is design. You said "top 5 Ferrari 8-cylinder designs", which could easily be interpreted as engine design. You didn't specify what aspect of design. Suspension? Interior? You didn't specify that it's all about exterior looks. Therefore I considered every aspect of the cars when I made my comments. Based on looks alone, I'd have to say

    F8
    488 GTB
    458 GTB
    F355 GTS
    F355 B

I think most would commonly appreciate the word “design” as a reference to the body style, but no worries. I like your list.

Generally speaking, I find that Ferrari superbly enhances original designs from the initial model. The F8 Tributo is the final evolution of the 458 body, and I think it’s a fantastic blend of elegance and aggression. Also with the 328, I personally much prefer how the shape evolved from the 308. Other models come to mind - 348-355, TR- 512M. Just my personal taste.

Interesting that you listed the 308 at #3, ahead of the 288 and 355. What do you prefer about the 308? Where would you put the 328 in comparison?

I think if you compare how the 308 drives - its the purest of them all. the 288, is the 308 with more power, and less roll. ( and way better looking ).
I would put the 328 as the best driving of them all - and most livable and useable. it has less compromise ... the 288 has the rack that was used in the 328, and more modern-ish feel, but its still a very analog car. The 288 is hard to steer at parking lot speeds, stiff until warmed up, and it gets warm inside, and AC sucks. but it is the best looking

355 is more modern than either, but also not as fun to drive - it's faster, more comfortable, and easier to use... but a carb'd 308 on a nice twisty country road about 70F outside and sunny windows down.. is a perfect day. My opinion.

I think for 8 cylinders designs
    1. F40 ( well cause it is the f40)
    2. 288GTO (truly understated)
    3. 488Pista (to me the Pista is the best looking design of Ferraris in years )
    4. 430 Scuderia (the best looking in my eyes of that generation)
    5. .and the 360 (the 360 just cause it is great look)

I know. Lol, it’s just that it is so bad it ruins the overall design for me. ;)

I put the 308 instead of the 328 because IMO the 328 80’s style interior hasn’t aged as well.

Wow no 308 love except the derivative 288.

    Hard to decide.

I’ll only say that the prettiest 8 s must include the 355 but the design top 5 should include the Dino 308gt4. Time has shown this design to have legs.

What criteria are you using for best? The golden harmonic? Or strictly subjective?

Would the Lusso 8 be eligible? Asking for a friend....
