Just had then FF out on the 495, road like the surface of the moon craters... dodge a gazillion massive potholes then drive over the tiniest one and slightly buckle the edge of my wheel...WTF!!!!

It's holding air, driving fine, but you can see the edge is no longer perfectly round.

Q - can I get this fixed or is Ferrari into me for $5k for a new front wheel?

Yeah you can get it fixed pretty easily, any wheel shop can do it

You're in NYC so I don't know any shops up there, maybe @ttforcefed can chime in

There are at least three shops I know of in Houston can do pretty decent wheel repair for ~$100/rim

Yes easy fix. Problem is the tires. With the low profile it doesn’t take much of a hole to damage the rim....

Check out Proformance in New Rochelle - +1 (914) 633-6880 I think is the number. They should be able to fix your wheel.

Im not sure if the FF has the same size wheels as Lusso but on my Lusso Ive moved to Vredstein Wintertrack Pro 245/40 Front and 275/40 Rear- they have much more meat on them- especially the fronts and so far I am so happy with these tires. A big thank you to @Il Co-Pilota for the suggestion on these tires. The only potential issue with these tires, either the front or rear tires are speed rated "only" to 149. That is a non issue for me.

To come back to the FF/ Lusso. I do not think it is so much the wheel itself, I think it has to do with weight of the vehicle and the suspension geometry. I've had similar issues with BMWs.

Yes. On Il Co-Pilota’s advice I run a 265/35/20 front summer tyre on the FF. However, I also run a 315/30/21 on the rear but I don’t see why you can’t upsize the stock 295/35/20 rears to a 315 as well.

You can use the 315 in the rear, but the stock FF wheel is too narrow for 265 unfortunately.

OP You can run MPS4S in 245/40R20 up front and the 315/35R20 in the rear. If you use the K1 spec in the back and a general purpose in the front, the neutral character of the front will offset a lot of the understeer that would normally result from adding wider rears. Additionally you can add 0.5 degrees of negative camber if you want. It is not a must, just a way to add some front end bite if you feel that it would benefit from it.

Good catch Il Co-Pilota. I’d forgotten that the stock FF front wheel is 8.5J and my summer fronts are 9J.

I note Vredstein also makes an all season version of this tire (Quadtrac?) in the same sizes but I am not sure about speed ratings. I am running separate sets of wheels. For summers I will go with MPS4S but not Ferrari rated in 255 size front and standard 295 size rear. The 255 is a little wider which helps with potholes. It is still 35 but this second number is a % so going wider means the sidewall will get a little higher. I am certain the MPS4S is a better sports tire, but had I known about the all season variant I might have decided to put them on for the summer. Its nice to have the extra “meat on the bone”

As great as the winter boots are, I would be very hesitant of the A/S shoes. I think you will be quite happy with your summer sandals:)

You meant those sizes for the stock wheels? Is the stock rear wheel wide enough for 315? What do you mean by "general purpose?"

Yes, the 315 will fit 10.5" wide wheels properly. They will fit 10.5" to 12.5" wide wheels.

By general purpose I simply mean tyres that are not OE specific, i.e not K, N, MO, or the like.

Thinking about summer tires now that the weather is warming up. Michelin PS4S seems to be the way to go. Bit uncertain from the above discussion on front and rear sizing though. @ANOpax seems to be running a front 265/35R20 + rear 315/30R21 yet @Il Co-Pilota is suggesting 245/40R20 front and 315/35R20 rears. I do understand that ANOpax has different rims. I have stock diamond cut rims. Also uncertain about K1 rears vs non-OE specific for the front rim. Why not K1 for both? A bit more sidewall vs standard spec seems to be a good idea. Appreciate your expertise.

    You're welcome.
Because there are not K spec available in that size, nothing more to it.
@ANOpax has OZ Zeus wheels which has a 9" wide front. That's why he can run the 265. His tyres are the the complete Merc GTR set actually. Great shoe.
To run the 245/40R20 with the added sidewall means you also need more sidewall in the rear. So either 315/35R20 or 275/40R20. Both will work, but for a setup that retains the OE characteristics the best, the 315 is the tyre of choice. 275/40R20 would be a fun tyre as it would allow the car to move around more and be much more biased towards oversteer, but this would be a setup for a driver that really wants a neutral car and a fast setup with much less of a safetynet.

What about a 295/35R20 in the rear so in between the 275 and 315 or is the 103mm side wall too short relative to the fronts? How would that handle?

Way too small in diameter. Even 305 is not enough.

You can do what Caeruleus11 is doing.
    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+4S&frontTire=535YR0PS4SXL&rearTire=035YR0PS4S&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

Not quite the tall profile of the 245/40R20, but still a lot better than the 235/35R20's which are just a joke on the Lusso. At the time he ordered, the 305 was out of stock so he opted to stick with the 295 rears along with the 255 fronts, but it looks like the 305 is beck in stock. Compared to the 235/35R20 the 255/35R20 will add ½" to your diameter as well as a lot of width. This results in a substantial overall increase in tyre volume.

So the ideal set up would be 255/35R20 front and 305/35R20 rear per the TireRack link? Sounds like I don’t need to worry about whether it’s K1 rated?

It kind of depends on your needs. Like I said, there's nothing to worry about with the rears being K in the initial suggestion. If your area is properly bad which it sounds like it is, then the initial 245/40R20 and 315/35R20 setup will be nice driving and safe setup.

Just to be clear, you are on OE winter tyres now correct?

Oh I see. So it was out of stock. I was about to ask the question on why not going to 305 at the rear, when the front is at 255.

It looks like the stock balance of any cars will be maintained as long as there is equal increment/decrement to the width of both the front and the rear from stock, right?

Likewise, the ideal winter setup using 40 aspect ratio is probably 245/40R20 & 295/40R20, but with 285 or 295 not available via WintracPro, 275/40R20 is the next best option. Maybe WintracPro at 255/40R20 & 305/40R20 will also work, but the downside are width and the large increment in diameter; where narrower width tires are more ideal for winter tires.
