A bit more complete in 2014 when for sale by Gullwing Motor Car Co., of Astoria/NY.
The pix on the BaT site were taken at Brian Hoyt's shop in Hayward, CA.
The car as such was for sale in 09/2014 by Terry Sullivan's Vintage Driving Machines of L.A., described as a totally dismantled resto project with an asking price of US$ 249'500.
In January 2016 the original engine 1543 GT was stolen in a workshop in Italy.

There are regular posters on here who state they are capable of manufacturing bespoke automotive glass. I have no reason to doubt the claim.

I've seen a few PF coupes that could benefit from a nose transplant. Here you have a pretty nice nose. And then there is the Boano/Elena bumper that should be worth something.

Probably the last thing to worry about if entertaining an idea of resurrecting it.
But should you “win”(?) the auction and pursue the “idea”, I can probably help with glass.

Well, why not. Unless you just buff out the existing refinish.

On the second thought, since it won’t require disassembly and/or likely any re-assembly, it might cost little less.

... or on the third, you can always leave it as is and present it as a “chop shop find” or “(what’s left of it) survivor” at your local C & C gatherings. :D

Just curious-- why did he cut it up? Based on the Gullwing picture above, what were the valuable parts that required cutting it up further? Or was it just to save space?

    Suggest you ask BH.
The frame and the title are certainly the most valuabe parts, and then the engine (stolen later).
Maybe 1543 GT is now a 250 SWB replica built in the UK?

I guess I'm too used to thinking about uni-body cars to realize that the frame was gone. That makes sense. I assume the serial number went with it.

what typically happens w a stolen vintage ferrari engine? restamped to match a rare ferrari(ie swb, gto, lm) and the original is safely stored away?

While not totally on topic I really do fear for some Ferrari's if these "replicas" get built in any reasonable quantity because and maybe I am wrong here I would rather have a have a 250 GT than a SWB replica.

    “If” ?

I believe your fear is a bit too late, as hundreds if not thousands of PF Coupes, GT/E’s, 330 2+2’s, etc (even a Lusso or two, if I’m not mistaken) have already been “sacrificed”(?) for hundreds upon hundreds of fakes GTO’s, TR’s, SWB’s, etc. and practice probably continues even today.

OTOH, we have to admit that not all old/vintage cars, regardless of make/model, can or are even practical to be saved.
