We usually do a decent breakfast then a snack of leftovers for lunch. Then dinner. The small lunch is something we’ve done for a while. Only eat two real meals a day.
well, I can't actually eat early either...this was only a few minutes before noon I literally never ate breakfast (as in literally nothing) until I was 45 or so, I didn't even eat my first egg until about then either. And, thus all of these so-called "Breakfasts" of mine are more like a lunch substitute that day. (Actually, the only time I ever eat "early" is when I come back from Europe and I'm jet-lagged and up from 3 or 4am onwards...then I go to a diner and eat breakfast around 7 or 8.) same, I've very rarely ever eaten 3 meals in a day...maybe only on vacation at a hotel that includes breakfast or when flying international and they keep feeding you. For my first 45 years, I only ate lunch and then dinner. Over these last 10 years, I've eaten only lunch/dinner when I'm working, or since retirement, its either lunch/breakfast and then dinner. And, over the past 18 months or so, only lunch and then maybe a small snack at night. Not sure why but I hardly eat anymore (don't get me wrong, 1 good meal per day, but not 2, let alone 3).

They built a new restaurant just up the hill from me at our Golf club house and they started serving breakfast...I was up early and waited for the snow plow guy to come by and headed up. It was good...so happy to have a very close breakfast place! Gave me more than enough energy for the 2 hours of shoveling snow off of my deck and walkways... Image Unavailable, Please Login
The food looks great, but there are two things wrong with your post, AzIt... "...waited for the snow plow guy..." AND "...2 hours of shoveling snow off of my deck and walkways..." That's insane! T
Indeed! I have always believed that "snow is something you visit". Sadly covid and travel restrictions have led me to spend my first-ever winter in our WY "summer cabin". Its -9F at the moment (was colder an hour ago). Yup, "negative". Not having a job does allow me the time to shovel snow and frankly I need the reason to get outside and exercise. But...'yeah', not sure I want to spend too many winters here when Scottsdale is calling... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I recall that during one cold spell in North Dakota the weather lady on TV used phrases such as "Overnight lows of 30 below, warming up to 10 below." That's when I knew I was in for a long and brutal winter. Stay warm! T
Well put! Lost count of how many times I ordered the many-plated "Western Breakfast" at House Of Pies in Los Feliz, CA. - Definitely kept the dishwashers employed. *Looks it up* Apparently renamed Ultimate Combo- Been eons, but the 3 pancakes nearly took up entire large plate of their own. Hashbrowns & 3 porky meats & eggs on another urban sprawl of burpin'. Toast was at least 4 slices. Most I paid was 1/3 current price. http://houseofpiesla.com/menus Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
New Years Day breakfast. Pretty much our standard weekend breakfast with the addition of a soup-up stewed tomatoes with black eyed peas dish for good luck. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Happy new year brunch today (well it was served at 1:30pm and will be the only meal of the day): Image Unavailable, Please Login
Black eyes peas on tap for tonight. Need to ensure a safe and sound 2021! Homemade skyr 4.0. Think I'm close to dialing this in. This time, I just gravity filtered the curds from whey without squeezing the nylon bag. Also, used our old mixer to blend the skyr to make it a smoother texture. Breakfast snd lunch and dinner yesterday... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes, well...not *my* home! The local Mexican place has wonderful tortillas. I had dinner last night there with a friend, and she never eats here, so I bring them home each time after we dine there...they then inspire my breakfast choices the next morning
ya know I was thinking about that too. I was feeling like I overdid...then I was at the market today and noticed the brats and full size sausages in the meat section and it occurred to me that the mass of all 7 little ol' breakfast links was equal to about one of those, or maybe 1.5 regular size sausages. For some reason my entire life I've been taught that little breakfast links are pure evil...yet most of us happily woof down a hot dog or polish dog or two at the ball park or wherever. While nobody thinks that is good either, they do it regardless with no judgement. I found that dichotomy interesting.
Wow I'm really behind the ball with some of the stuff in seeing! Some sweet potato hash and eggs Image Unavailable, Please Login
Leftover tortillas from lunch yesterday, became the base for egg & sausage taco's this morning. Yummy! Image Unavailable, Please Login
English Muffins Butter Sunny side eggs Cheese And I love breakfast Ketchup! Freshly squeezed OJ Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
That looks good. Ketchup on eggs like that is a winner. We don’t keep much bread around, I get 1/2 loaf occasionally. The other day we made almost the same sandwich - multi grain bread (not as good as English muffins) and we cooked the eggs until about hard. Should have toasted the bread, still it was a tasty treat.
