Cool beans! Yeah, there's a zero point zero percent chance my wife would let me take a blow torch to a wood plank in the kitchen. Hmm. Thinking!

And with vichyssoise spelled correctly (at least per Wiki)! High marks on all fronts!

You're channeling my wife. I showed her the blowtorch video & that was her rejoinder.

Ribs from Montana's. Its a Canadian chain, not bad, not as good as real BBQ in the states. Menu (montanas.ca)

I really like Zuppa Toscana. The smell of the garlic! I'm preparing for a 6 hours VLN race at the Nurburgring in June and one in July. So i have a specific schedule in calories etc.

It was definitely garlicky. Used about twice what they said. Served it with homemade parmesan crisps.

Good luck in your race preparations. Sounds exciting.

I'm craving a big mac and McNugget's with sweet and sour sauce. I'll take Bella to the park and stop at McDonalds on the way home. Get her a cheeseburger.

We used to try & sneak PBRs in high school because the rumor was that it had more alcohol content than other beers!

I'd skip the burger for Bella. Processed foods have a lot more salt than dogs need.
That being said, our pup enjoyed her bit of akaushi tenderloin on her kibble last night!

Chicken cordon blue - in a casserole dish - tonight.
Ham, chicken, swiss cheese, topped with a little herbes de Provence.
No dijon mustard; blech. I hate mustard!

    We ate there!
Wife had a business dinner, and they let spouses tag along (free food, New Orleans, uh, yes, sign me up!).
    It was good. And free!

Too bad Cafe Adelaide closed. It was right near there.
Best dessert ever. Bread pudding with white chocolate and made w/ Southern biscuits.
    Mmmmm.

I have re-reviewed your pictures and I don't think you have enough oyster action going on there!

Corporation bar is near by. Cool place to watch the NFL game.

This time of year, the Janitors didn't mow grass near locker room, it was cold, foggy & Basketball season. 16 oz. Coors or Schlitz Malt Liquor was ready whenever we were. ;)

Coors was a myth living on the East Coast. Even after Smoky and the Bandit. If someone had produced a six pack of Coors when we were teens, they'd have been the stuff of legend for decades to come.

Schlitz was known, but considered inferior by us teenage connoisseurs!

FWIW, The Bull (Malt Liquor) isn't regular Schlitz. We'd only have it at some point during BB Season or the 2nd of 2 Ag Fairs & during that no-mow Stash period. Coors, which we felt was low odor & being canned was easily crushed afterward and *only* for between classes. Any other time - I was strictly a dark bottled beer guy. Heineken Dark was preferred over Beck's & widely available at that time & come to find out, only available in U.S..

When I was 17 (1989), my brother was 19. Drinking age in Canada. At the time the DMV database didn't store pictures. So I told the DMV was my brother and lost my license. Watched the mail and had the perfect fake id. At bars the only beer I could remember was Coors light for some reason.
