Uh no. Jets are playing like Brady never left Foxboro. They'd have a hard time beating the Cowboys!

Some teams have really suffered from not having training camp more than others. But with Dallas they've been hit by the injury bug big time.

I would imagine a new coaching staff and no training camp can't be easy. But, still they're playing like dogs...T

Going to have to agree with Ace here. Apart from NFC East, which is abysmal, every other division has at least two decent teams.

I think Pittsburgh may be for real given that they've rid themselves of their drama llamas...T

What's wierd is, right now, there are 9 teams in the AFC that might not surprise anyone if
they made it to the SB, but the NFC? Ummm... 4? Maybe?

And of those 4, none are from the NFC East.

    Nope.
I'm figuring GB, TB, Rams, and if they could figure out defense, SEA.
I'd like to say Carolina, but they need another piece or two.
Chi, NO and Dall have internal turmoil, SF - if they could stop with the injuries and get some guys back.
AZ needs a little more seasoning.

AFC - KC, Pitt, Balt, (gap), Tenn, LV, (gap), Buff, on the fringe - LAC, Mia - if they would have stuck with Fitz,
Hou, Indy, Jax have issues, and I expect the Jets to beat NE once.

I don't think we are done with game-changing injuries with key players at skill positions,
one or two and you are done.

I think we can all agree on that! Although the CBS Sports article I saw mentioned that teams with mediocre records that made it into playoffs had a good win rate. But, yeah, at this stage I can't see any of these teams going deep in the playoffs...T

Now that's a bold statement! I think Jets cash run the table. Maybe one win if they fire Gase the week before a weak opponent...T

You see Trevor Lawrence walk back his statement of most likely declaring himself available for the NFL draft?
He's looking at the Jets, and rethinking that statement...

I don't follow college football, but I can't say that I blame him.
Apart from a few years when Parcells coached them, they more or less have stunk it up since Namath and SB III.
I refused to root for them when they abandoned NYC for NJ.

When I moved to DFW, I was looking forward to rooting for the Cowboys.
My secretary in Memphis was - still is - a HUGE Cowboys fan, so I kind of followed them.
Figured it would be nice to root for a good team to counterbalance the Mets' near unending reign of mediocrity - & worse.
20 years later? Cowboys ain't done much except make JJ & family richer.
They had a nice window when they struck gold in a few consecutive drafts, but I think they've wasted that. Now all those guys are tying up huge chunks of salary cap, and the team don't appear to be buying into McCarthy's system.

I'll let you in on something: It's probably no surprise that here in DC, people loathe the Cowboys and take every opportunity to ridicule Jerry Jones. But when they truly open up, they say they would give anything to have a hyper-involved owner like JJ as opposed to the lethargic and stupid Daniel Snyder.

Yeah, once I hit send, I wondered to what extent the ownership flaws are responsible for NFC East's demise over the past few years.
Seems to me that Iggs, Boys and WTFs have been hit by injury, but that's the nature of the NFL, and successful teams can plug people in and coach them up, and at least tread water until the starters return. I don't see that with Dallas. They have had good frontline people, but if and when they go down, the 2nd tier players on the depth chart are a big drop off. Then, it seems they give the wrong people the big bucks. Dez, Tank Lawrence, Zeke, etc., etc. who then fold up their tents and regress...T

First, EVERY team in the NFL has made their owner richer. A LOT richer.
Second, didn't I say somewhere, maybe not on FC, that as soon as a player holds out, and the
management gives in and forks over the big bucks, that player disappears?

I'm trying to remember the last HOLDOUT that got the big bucks and STILL produced...
Zeke, no, Amari, no, Laveon Bell, no, Chris Johnson, no, Antonio Brown, Albert Haynesworth, no....

Don't tell me your problems Tom, I've got my own. Julian Edelman had a knee procedure today and is out, and N'Keal Harry is in concussion protocol.

So that leaves us with only 3 healthy receivers. Fortunately they are all household names, Damiere Byrd, Gunner Olszewski and Jakobi Meyers. :D

I don't think so. Zeke, definitely. Your point on hold outs is well taken though. However, D's problem seem to usually be players getting big contracts, then failing to live up to them...T
