Is Kawhi proving he’s the best player in the world.... again?
Big news! Clippers get permission to built their own stadium in Inglewood near SoFi stadium. Another win for the South Bay of LA! https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29840216/la-clippers-get-final-city-approval-build-inglewood-arena Image Unavailable, Please Login
One more thing from my past is now bulldozed over - this is the site of the old Century Drive-In, which was demolished years ago, but which lives on in my memory. I'm surprised that Inglewood gets so much, and that arenas like this aren't in El Segundo or Westchester near LAX, Maybe the old Hollywood Park location is the only large plot land left in the area?
What they've done to Hollywood park is nothing short of amazing. I only hope it helps reinvestment in the Inglewood / Hawthorne area instead of the area hurting the venues. A lot of people are upset that rents are going up being close to these venues. But that means the property is now valuable. I was never a fan of the Lakers and Kings moving downtown. Its a complete hassle to get there. Moving to the South Bay is so much easier for almost anyone unless you live downtown. Its easier to go from Santa Monica to Inglewood than it to go from Santa Monica to Staples.
True, it is a great location, all they need to do is to put in a safe zone on Century for a speed trip to and from the 405. I have a colleague on the City Council there, and saw the preliminary plans years ago. I thought it was pretty ambitious, but what they envisioned is actually coming to pass. I remember that when I was a kid, we'd drive to Inglewood to see the rich people's houses at Christmas; maybe they can spruce up the adjacent areas and make it an urban hotspot. LA Live is pretty cool once you're there, but the in-and-out is tough - impossible when the Harbor Freeway is at its normal standstill.
LOL. Rockets are alot worst than I thought. Harden and Westbrick are truely regular season stat padders. More proof regular season performance should be taken with a grain of salt. I am looking forward to Clippers vs Lakers. Safe to say that’s the NBA Finals this season.
I hope with all my heart laqueen James doesn’t win it. His arrogance just too much man. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That block by Bam on Tatum is the best play of this playoffs hands down. Tatum's dunk attempt was going in strong to the rim and I couldn't believe Bam was able to stop that. The icing on the cake was he caught the loose ball immediately after that to finish the play single handedly...holy crap.
A Heat - Nuggets final may be the least watched Finals if it happens lol. I'm sure NBA executives want Lakers - Celtics for more revenue...
LOL you guys are like the only team ever where during your NBA Finals the lower bowl fans didn't show up until like the 2nd quarter fashionably late...
I’m extremely disappointed Clippers and Lakers couldnt match up. But my hats off to Nuggets for playing with passion and absolute poise and confidence. The Murray Jokic combo is extremely deadly and results in great looks for their lesser skilled teammates. It also causes the opposing to burn a tremendous amount of energy on D and also while scrambling for rebounds. They got better looks all series imo. They were the better team. They deserve a shot at the Lakers. I just want them to bring that same fire to the series.
Not sure why everyone hypes up Lou Williams to be the Clippers third scoring threat. He looks lost most of the time. Kawhi wouldve been better off with Lowry and Van Fleet.
Nuggets +470 to win the series. That’s pretty good odds. Didn’t they learn not to sleep on the Nuggets?
Jimmy Butler had 2 great steals in the 4th quarter and ended the game with another nice tipped pass to end it...I'm really impressed with how the Heat are playing team ball as it should be played.
