We've had both the Costco prime tomahawk and cap steaks. Great meat. And, we've even fell for the ribeye "eye" switcheroo!

I've concluded that you're better off with a choice grade better cut of beef than a prime grade lesser cut.

agreed. The Costco choice ribeyes (with the cap still attached) looked fantastic on both of my recent trips. Very high grade choice. And their choice whole tenderloins are unbeatable. That’s our family go to for Christmas nowadays rather than prime rib.

Costco sold a box of filet mignons wrapped in bacon. Pretty tasty on the grill. I have a craving for them. Checking to see if Costco still sells them. If not there is a meat market chain here that sells them too. That will be dinner.

Sounds about right... baked / grilled chicken! I get the grill hot, add chicken, lots of bbq sauce and cook till done. It’s indirect heat with a BGE insert thing.

I've seen those. But, the wife will only eat super crisp bacon, and so the filet would be charred by that time.

More details on the Meyer lemon tree? Did you grow from seed? Seedling? How long before it produced fruit?

It’s the same one I’ve posted here before and it’s ready thriving right now. Just picked two, few more ready soon. Must be 15 more about plum size. And another round of blooms with 30-40 tiny ones - most won’t make it. We’ve had it 7-8 years. Bought it online as a small plant. First fruit I think was year two.

We got it here. I still had the receipt - bought it June 2014. Three years old when I got it.

They are good......... I like rare bacon. Costco didn't have them and the meat market I know has them was closed on Sunday.

Today, I'm getting take out, just not sure what yet.

    Yes, its a holiday here.

I feel like Italian, but the only decent restaurant in town for it. Well its a long drive. Second choice is Chinese. I'm having sashimi and rolls for lunch. Had pizza the other day. Maybe fish N chips. Been awhile since I've had that. A steakhouse steak would also be good. But don't feel like driving into town for my favorite steakhouse.

Cool. Looks like the mini lemon tree my aunt had back in Brooklyn. It put out tiny lemons that were tart as heck as best as I recall, but that was nearly 50 years ago.

That company doesn't ship to Texas. ☹️ Nor Florida or Arizona. I suspect that would be stated with large citrus industries...T

    ...and served with pinquito beans!

I did mine over oak and charcoal. Salt only. Fresh cracked black pepper and a little garlic powder afterwards, and a dab of butter while resting, since I saw that on a lot of the online literature. I even cooked them less than usual, much to the wife's chagrin.

Fortunately, it's Costco, so that means there's likely more of them back in our freezer for me to experiment with...T
