What is a V12 w/o sound? A significant component to V12 enjoyment is "music" of the engine.

Lets be honest, the vast majority of 812 VS will be tucked away in air con garages /carcoon whatever. They are destined to be museum pieces ,so who cares about the sound?

Both can be true at the same time. We buy V12s for the purity of the sound and LEs to stare at and not drive. Shame on the EU for destroying the future of automobiles by forcing an unnatural decline of a trait so important to the heritage and enjoyment of Ferrari. All electric will be faster accelerating until the EU decides that's not good for the planet either. Sad but I have my most splendid NA V12 sans nanny BS.

If we applied this logic to most nice things in life, we wouldn’t have very many nice things....

I just took delivery of a GPF-equipped GTS. The sound is a little quieter than our coupe (which we still own) but with different, and very appealing character. Reminds me of an old 50’s or 60’s racer when you’re pushing along. No 60’s racer downchanges like that though :)

If I hadn’t owned a Superfast I would be raving about the exhaust note’s volume. Instead, I realise they are still able to tune a GPF exhaust to really suit the car they are developing.

I don’t think we need to worry about the GPF-equipped VS and most certainly I won’t be modifying my GTS, which turns out to have an exhaust, probably perfectly judged for the car. I think if you’re a Ferrari chief engineer, you might feel you’ve earned the right to a little faith from your audience.

Here a small sample from a new car (revs still quite low). The laughter at the end was a spontaneous reaction from my wife to hearing a beautiful sound. She has no idea what on earth a GPF is, she just liked it!

Fantastic car! Have you had a chance to review the owners manual for any mention of the GPF and any instructions/details therein? If any, could you let us know what is provided?

    thank you

Excellent point about Ferrari- they have delivered so many times in the past, I think they have easily earned the benefit of the doubt. We all know there are challenges, but they’ve so far risen above them. I am sure the 812 VS will be sensational, I am super excited to learn more!

    This.

@ingegnere , I know you don't have a lot of material to work on, but I'd love to see a sketch based on what we've read and seen on this thread...

The engine is cataclysmic, more physical than the TDF ! but less pretty concerning the body, to my eyes...

Yes, because standard 812 goes equal with Pista on the straight line. On the track heavy front engine car, will be always slower then lighter mid engine car.

The standard 812 is pretty enough. Let's have it be beastly! Really nail in that big V12 lineage.
