The national CMO is a joke, has NO idea how to control this and calls it an "evolving" issue

Either do it right or don't do it at all

I get pissed at the checkouts where you press the screen for various reasons and then there is no staff cleaning the screens after each transaction, pressing the buttons on an elevator, petrol stations don't clean the pump handles or give you some disposable gloves and many more ......... like I said, do it right or don't do it at all.

And this Melbourne quarantine thing was just a GREED issue with the security firms, I hope some of them get the disease and fuching die for the grief they are causing the rest of Australia

What? The country has done remarkably well, with two notable exceptions - the Ruby Princess debacle and the current situation in Melbourne (note I didn’t say Victoria). Neither or which is the fault of the national CMO.

The blame for the current problem in Melbourne lies entirely with the Victorian State government.

Why didn’t they accept the offer to have the ADF doing the guarding of hotels?
What security firm did they use? Was there a tender process or was it just another “friend of the ALP” company?
Why are they happy for 30% of returned overseas travellers to refuse testing when in other States the numbers are 2% or less and there are severe penalties? Why have they allowed in several instances people to effectively break quarantine and then travel interstate?

And so on...

 

I'm betting that the security firms who got the quarantine contracts are owned by either Labor donors, mates of Labor politicians, or ethnic powerbrokers in marginal seats. Of course, all three descriptions could apply to any one firm.

Will our fearless ABC conduct an investigation into the scandal? Never.

Would they have done so if the state govt was Liberal? You bet.

Simon, Moretti's point is valid. A CMO is by definition someone who is not good enough as a doctor. Nobody at the top of their field is going to be interested in joining a govt bureaucracy, with it's rigid processes and attendant politics.

CMO's around the world have flip-flopped from the start, as they tried to read the political wind.

The emergence of a pandemic from China was a matter of when, not if, and was regularly discussed in medical journals. People like Bill Gates also warned repeatedly.

The WHO has a good set of guidelines learned from the 2007 SARS outbreak yet bizarrely these were ignored during the early months of CoVID, in no small amount due to the CCP's capture of the WHO, who in turn control CMO's actions.
