Loving the Speciale so far other than the soft touch surfaces are somewhat sticky (HVAC controls are probably the worst) and the rear brake calipers. I saw a listing for a cream puff one and it's black...how the hell did this happen? Previous owner used a caustic wheel cleaner? When I brought up the HVAC controls, the sales person made it sound like it's only a problem when black residue transfers to your fingers. The reverse button has the whole middle rubbed off. Anyone have luck with warranty covering this?

    Thanks!

Check out Sticky RX for refinishing those sticky buttons.

As far as the surface rust, that's usually no big deal to clean off. If you can remove the bolts, just buy some Evap-o-Rust at Autozone or Amazon and toss them into that for an hour or two. If you want to return them to black, you can hit them with some Gun Blue afterwards.

You could also remove them, measurement and replace them with 316 Stainless or Titanium. Those won't rust.
