No ****. That's why I prefer to buy kosher dogs myself or from local small town butchers. My father in law would never eat commercial hot dogs and only sausage he made or had made for him. I really miss the street food in the city- especially the knishes......always make a point of grabbing a bite or two for lunch whenever I go back to visit. And Chinese.
I too prefer Hebrew National but we just had the Nathan's in the freezer and didn't want to drive 14 miles to the nearest supermarket, don facemasks, and all CV19 crap just to have a hotdog. The corn was easy - we live in a fairly rural area with a "farmer's market" up the road a few miles. Granted, the corn wasn't locally grown (too early for Western WA) - it came in from the East side of the state where it's hot and summer-like much earlier than the west side. But I don't keep kosher - it's not about that. I don't like ANY such product with pork in it. Makes it too greasy. Jedi
Thanks. We had some Cod that we put in the freezer back when getting food was a challenge, and we just winged it on the batter - flour, water, salt, baking powder. She wanted to use beer, but no way was I going to sacrifice any of that!
How did you do the naan at home? I saw a video for chapati making, and it was only 3 ingredients as I recall - flour, water, salt IIRC. Is naan similar? T

We ate Hebrew National for similar reasons. Quality and no mystery meat. Once you have a good all-beef hotdog, it will ruin you for the cheap, mystery meat dogs...T

For street hotdogs, nothing beats Japa Dog here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japadog I feel like a chicken sandwich, I think Popeyes is open now. Our location doesn't have drive thru.
Looks good, especially the beer. Love that stuff. Hope where you land next is good for you two. So much uncertainty out there.
I've seen Japadog on TV. If I ever make it to NC, I'm eating there! Image Unavailable, Please Login After our bbq exertions of last night , something a bit lighter. Salad with some of our garden's bounty - butter lettuce (might be bibb), maters, tenerumi (tendrils of the cucuzza), carrot greens. Maters are from Kroger. Hmm. That's not something I had heard of before. Something like this recipe? https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/221140/broken-spaghetti-risotto/ Thanks...T
Great. So, now people are hoarding garlic?!? Have a whole mess of garlic powder and minced in a jar, plus garlic plants in the raised beds...T
I've noticed for a while the garlic at the store seemed to be fewer, but still available. I've bought the minced garlic in a jar exactly once. It tastes terrible, imo.
Yeah, it's a poor substitute for fresh, no doubt. It's OK if garlic is a background flavor, and not the main component. I've been unable to find my preferred ginger garlic paste on Amazon for a while now. I used that pretty liberally when I cook Indian dishes. T

They are popular here. Lots of movies and TV shows are filmed here. The celebrities tend to stay at the Fairmont hotel on the waterfront, so their location near there, sometimes has "famous" people in line. Tonight is cheap burger night at White Spot, its a chain here started in 1928. I wish they still had car hop service with a 1950's style tray they attach to your car. Oh well I'll just do take out.
