Thanks Jo Sta7 - I feel much better! Just in case I’ll still take it easy on her!

The large paddles are not included in the the driver zone carbon fibre package.Only the small paddles. The larger carbon fibre paddles on their own, are an additional charge of $2000CAD.

Ah ok. I’ve never had a problem with (or noticed) the small paddles on my 812 so I suspect they will be fine.

When tracking, the large paddles are an asset plus I much prefer them aesthetically.

Are these Ferrari specific paddles? I’d like to have the smaller ones on my 458 replaced with the bigger ones. I agree it’s an asset and makes the car easier to drive.

Carbonio a sponsor here may have them. They are supposed to be super easy to install.

Agreed, that’s why the Speciale and Pista came with them as standard equipment.

They charge $850 and installation involves removing the 2 bolts on each paddle and replacing them with the large paddles. Yet Ferrari charges $1800 more than the standard paddle which is included at no charge.

I ordered the CF Drivers Zone (CIDL). It includes CF steering wheel with LED’s, CF Tach Surrounds, and CF Paddles in standard size ($7593 total). It doesn’t include the long paddles, which would be an extra $1687 (CFPA)

there could be a record of that in the car's computer somewhere....
I agree, short paddles should be considered a defect and Ferrari should change it for free. This is the proper length for a proper shifter. ( in their 488 Challenge cup car)

Must read the review of F8 in Automobile magazine. Over the top, giddy with unbridled praise.

I’m tired of reading reviews of driving impressions. A real test with full data logs would be nice to see. I’m surprised a European magazine hasn’t gotten a hold of a car to put through its paces yet.

I have no issues with road test reviews that are insightful and offer comparative subjective impressions to other comparable cars. Reviews that focus on objective metrics are valuable to a certain extent. All current super cars are exceptionally capable and technically advanced. The differentiator between them is the emoton and excitement driving them evokes.

Agreed. Impressions are subjective by nature and often conflict with what another person may experience. I would find it far more useful if more journalists would just attach a GoPro to their forehead, shut up and drive. Reciting the typical adjectives to describe the acceleration, steering and suspension feel is getting old. They’re all at a level where they meet or exceed most consumer’s expectations. Comparing across brands is also of little use since they all offer such unique driving personalities. A GT2 RS competes with a Pista but are not really comparable aside from the raw performance data.

Ferrari and the rest frowns on those test of old(like the 'road tests" of the 70s 80s"). there is always a faster gun out there and no car is perfect. Test conditions vary and data could be questioned.
